NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - While commenting the news that the president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic has intention to disband the National Assembly of RS, the president in the presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik said that, if such a decision comes, it must be fully harmonised with the Constitution of RS. "Mrs. Plavsic must hold on the legal regulations, which are precisely formulated by the Constitution, i.e. the president of the National Assembly and the Government of RS must agree with that", stressed Krajisnik.

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik talked in Pale with the High civilian Representative for B&H Carlos Westendorp about the current situation in RS. " We are grateful to Mr. Westendorp for attentiveness and decisiveness to participate and help in solving the current problems in RS", said Mr. Krajisnik adding that from Westendorp he expects a great help.

DOBOJ - The chief of the General Staff of RS Army /VRS/ general Pero Colic stated in Doboj that "RS Army will not interfere into the current events within the state leadership of RS, because it is not the military matter". "VRS will do its job, as it is regulated by the Constitution and Law on the National Defence of RS", stressed general Colic, expressing his conviction that "the current political arguing in the leadership of RS would be overcome".

DOBOJ - The command of the Swedish battalion of SFOR prevente the chief of General Staff of VRS general Pero Colic and commander of the Third Corps Novica Simic the regular visit to the commands of the Serbian Army in Petrovo on Ozren mountain. "We have announced in advance the today's visit and have got the SFOR accordance, because of the movement in the zone of separation, but fifteen minutes before departure here in Doboj we had got the message by which this visit is forbidden", confirmed general Colic.

SARAJEVO - The Council of Ministers will discuss in Lukavica about the Laws on travelling documents, citizenship, as well as the recognising and using the public documents on the territory of B&H, is learned from the Cabinet of the co-presiding Boro Bosic. There will be discussed the law on official gazette, and the decision on opening and signing the credit and special accounts, appointing the joint representatives in the international financial institutions, as well as the report about the work of the commission for mine clearance and proposal about the further activities.

SRBAC - The delegates of the Union for Peace and Progress /SMP/ will attend the session of NS RS and "will not take part of any individual, because state is more important than party and personal interests". This is stressed in Srbac on the public tribune "the functioning of the state institutions and the role of opposition in the republican parliament", which organiser is the Municipal Board of the Socialistic Party of RS.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Democratic Patriotic Party /DPS/ Predrag Radic stressed at the press -conference in Banja Luka that this party "with the great attention and worried follow the arguing within the inner leadership of RS, which are very detrimental for Republika and its citizens". "DPS appeals on the consciousness and dignity of the delegates in NS RS, no matter on their party determination, that on the agenda of the next session of the parliament should have been the struggling against crime, so the interests of the people would be best protected, the people who gave them its confidence at the last elections", added Radic.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Serbian Patriotic Party /SPAS/ Slavko Zupljanin gives "full support to the president of RS Biljana Plavsic in her intention to stop crime and lawlessness". He rejected the possibility that the National Assembly of RS dismiss the president Plavsic, announcing that he will oppose to that if such proposal would be submitted.

CHICAGO - The member of the Serbian National University in Chicago Mr. Branislav Stanisic called upon the leadership of RS "on unity in the crucial moments, when international community, headed by U.S., is trying to break down the youngest Serbian state". Stanisic presented to the SRNA correspondent by phone, the stance of Serbs from that part of U.S.A. that "NATO forces, in cooperation with some structures of the former B&H, threw the germ of discord into the highest leadership of RS.

SARAJEVO - At the address of some state officials came the communication in which authenticity is hard to believe, as in it president Biljana Plavsic asks for the opinion on eventual dismissing the National Assembly. It is hard to believe that she wants the dismissal of the Assembly which Serbian people hardly achieved and to get persons obedient to west which would surrender the Serbian state under the Moslem authorities in B&H, it is stated in the comment of the Serbian Radio.

PRIJEDOR - The Local Electoral Commission /LEC/ of the Prijedor municipality sent the communication to the sub-commission of OSCE for the verification of citizenship, requiring to secure the voting right for 800 citizens, by filling their disputable certifications about citizenship in which is not written B&H. According the LEC's data, at the Prijedor's region were registered 55,302 voters, out of which 918 have decided to vote in the municipality from were they were expelled.

ROME - The great quantities of the meat of mad cows, extraordinarily dangerous for the human health, were smuggled from the Great Britain and France into B&H as the humanitarian aid - report all Italian media. On the basis of EU order, in Belgium started three investigations because smuggling this meat into B&H, Russia and Egypt.
