NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The president of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic, talked in Banjaluka with Doris Pack, member of the European Parliament Committee for Foreign Affairs, of the implementation of the Dayton agreement provisions concerning the return of refugees. The Serb side, reveals the press release from the RS Presidential Cabinet, underlined that in the process of return the wish of every refugee about the future place of living should be taken into consideration.

SARAJEVO - The president of the RS National Assembly, Dragan Kalinic, convened the Assembly ninth session for June 16 at 10:00 hrs in the Bistrica Hotel in Jahorina. The Assembly will discuss bills on civilian security and public works and other issues.

PRIJEDOR - The RS and Federation military delegations together with OSCE representative colonel Alfred Lugart talked with Prijedor mayor Milomir Stakic on the implementation of the Confidence-Building Agreement. The talks took place as a part of twoday visit by Federation colonel Bozo Pavlovic and colonel Lugart to the Prijedor barracks "Zarko Zgonjanin".

BANJALUKA - SFOR and IPTF discovered large amounts of undeclared arms and ammunition in the Drnjaca police station, near Vitez, during their regular inspection on June 16, stated SFOR spokesman for South-West Sector, colonel Mike right, adding that 103 arms, 147 cartridges and 2,700 sets of small calibre ammunition were seized.

ROME - Today's headlines in the Italian media say that the World Bank suspended all reconstruction loans for the B-H, because B-H failed to repay an outstanding installment of US $ 8 million debt - which is a part of US $ 620 debt that B-H inherited from the former Yugoslavia - by May 15. The Italian commentators note that Federation of B-H grabbed 98 per cent of all international financial assistance and now it wants to share the debt with RS in a portion 52 per cent for the Federation and 48 per cent for RS.

BANJALUKA - The senior OSCE election officer, Ronald Dreyer, called all citizens of RS and B-H Federation to register for municipal elections.

BEOGRAD - Out of 76,000 refugees who registered in Yugoslavia for the up- coming elections in B-H, about 90 per cent decided to vote in municipalities where they lived before the war. The president of the Federal Commission for Refugees from B-H, Bratislava Morina, stated that 66 per cent of voters registered for polling in Federation and 34 per cent in RS.

BRCKO - Teodor Gavric and Jelica Vidovic are appointed new president and secretary of the local electoral commission in Brcko, so the preparations are finished for tomorrow's start of the renewed voters registration for the local elections. Due to alleged manipulations in the registration process, the registration had been suspended on June 11, and 17,000 registrations expunged.

ZVORNIK - The Municipal Court in Zvornik, presided over by Dragica Dakic, sentenced accused Mumin Islamovic to 15 days in prison. The self-styled president of the community of Jusici, Nezir Islamovic, announced the kidnapping of residents of the neighbouring Serb villages who will be exchange for the sentenced Mumin Islamovic.
