NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ will discuss at the session in Pale the bills about the changes and amendments of the Law on mining and Law on urban space management. Before the members of the Government will be put the Draft Law on changes and amendments of administrative taxes, as well the Proposal of the Solution on determining the common interest in housing construction for accommodation of the families of refugees and displaced persons in Visegrad's settlement Garca.

BIJELJINA - The Chief of General Staff of the RS Army /VRS/ the general- major Pero Colic talked in Bijeljina with the deputy chief of the OSCE mission for regional stabilisation, Danish general Per Scov Christensen, about the further implementation of the military part of Dayton Agreement. General Colic stated after the meeting the focus of the talks was on the measures of building security and confidence, and the Agreement on control of arms and implementation of the U.S. programme "Equip and train" for the army in the Federation B&H. DOBOJ - The families of 235 Serbian young men from the former B&H, will hold the memory gathering on the occasion of five years of their death, and Selim Beslagic, the mayor of Tuzla, the city where they were murdered, will probably, as it is already the tradition, mark "the historical" and the day of "the great victory". ZVORNIK - The Moslems from Tuzla's Canton on May 12 this year in the Zvornik's village Baljkovica desecrated and burned 14 graves on the Orthodox cemetery. ZAGREB - Under the pressure of the foreign governments and organisations for humanitarian rights, Croatia last night announced that it will repeal the law by which to Croatian was allowed to enter and settle the houses of Serbs expelled from the occupied parts of Republika Srpska Krajina /RSK/ - reports the AP. The law on temporary use of abandoned Serbian houses is adopted two years ago, after the Croatian occupation of the greater part of RSK, when more than 200,000 Serbs were expelled.

ZAGREB - The Croatian refugees from the former B&H expelled, during this week, around hundred mainly older Serbs from their houses in the villages around Kostajnica, in Banija - reports Reuters according the announcement of the Helsinki committee for human rights. According to the words of the chief of the Croatian representative of the Helsinki committee Ivan Cicak, many of these Serbs were beaten by newly arrived Croatian people, of which some wore the military uniforms. Cicak stressed that the majority of these Serbs lived here in the period between 1991 and 1995 except eleven of them who returned recently from Srem- Baranja region.

AMSTERDAM - The Dutch weekly "Elsefir" issued the feuilleton "The house of Allah in London", in which is stressed that this city became the meeting place of rich Arabs and their political organisations, from moderate to the most extreme , such as Hammas and Hesbollah . TIRANA - The special OSCE envoy Franz Vranizki came in Albania again to try to solve the newest crisis in the relations between Albanian parties, on the occasion of impending elections in this country. The opponent parties indicated that they will leave the Government of the national reconciliation if the new law on elections would be adopted. In that case in Albania would again come the confusion and conflicts - claims the representatives of the opponent parties stressing that the governing Democratic party deceived in reached agreement, which was supported by Vranizki.

ALGIERS - The Moslem extremists slaughtered last night in the village Cebly, 50 kms southern from Algiers, 30 persons, between which 17 children, two babies and seven women - reports Reuters according to the Algerian press agency APS. The massacre happened few hours before beginning the three week campaign for parliamentary elections scheduled for July 5 this year.

SARAJEVO - UN wish to secure the freedom of movement for citizens in RS and FB&H , and this will achieve by assistance of SFOR and by introducing the keen code of conducting for the local police in both entities - stated in Sarajevo the special envoy of the UN Secretary General Kai Eide. He announced that from today will take effect the obligation of the reduction of the check points in RS and FB&H. "All police check points from now must be removed by help of SFOR units" - said Aide.

SARAJEVO - The High international Representative Carl Bildt called the Western diplomats to be cautious because of the more and more frequent appearance of the fascist symbols and slogans, by which Croats glorifies and trying to reincarnate the infamous "ustasha's" Independent State of Croatia - reports Reuters. Bildt stated that the big powers will not tolerate new attempts of creating the "ustasha's" state, which during the Second World War massacred in mass Serbian people and Jews.

SARAJEVO - The House of People of the Parliament of FB&H continued in Sarajevo the discussion about the Proposition of Law and changes of the areas of municipalities divided by the interentity boundary lines and forming the new municipalities in the Federation, after the House of Representatives last night, without the presence of the representatives of the Croatian Democratic Community /HDZ/, adopted this law. This is the third session of the House of People, in whole dedicated to this dispute law, which once again divided the federal partners. The delegates of HDZ insist that into the proposed law will be included the amendment related with the forming of the Croatian municipality Usora, which is rejected by the delegates of SDA a priori, allegedly because of the ethnical criteria for forming this municipality.
