NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BRCKO - Republika Srpska will respect the Dayton agreement, but the other side has also to stick to that agreed to and signed, stated RS president Biljana Plavsic in Brcko. During their visit to Brcko officials, president Plavsic and the head of the RS Army General Staff, general Pero Colic, congratulated members of the Serb delegation for successful representation of RS at the Arbitration Commission meeting in Rome.

SARAJEVO - The RS government, adopted Draft law on ministries and draft law supplement on arms and ammunition.

SARAJEVO - The Council of Ministers of the Dayton B-H failed to adopt the Rules of Procedure of the Council, at today's session held in the Muslim part of Sarajevo. The co-chairman of the Council, Boro Bosic, stated that "there are still disputable issues, so the further discussion is delayed for the next session".

BRCKO - A Muslim military formation, protected by SFOR soldiers, entered into the zone of separation in the area of Gajevi, this morning, reports assistant head of Centre for Public Security in Brcko, Radomir Marjanovic. Despite yesterday's rally of about 300 Serbs from the village of Koraj, from which a protest was sent to SFOR and UNHCR because of their "forcibly accommodation of war criminals in RS territory", SFOR Command denied Serb police access to the area of Gajevi.

LOPARE - The US SFOR Division, under command of general Migs, occupied about ten square kilometres of RS, reports Radio Majevica. The area of the Serb village of Mirosavci, burned down in this war by the Muslims, as well as the Gajevi area, were blocked by fully armed US soldiers.

BEOGRAD - The president of the Executive Council of the Serb District of Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem, Vojislav Stanimirovic, assessed the situation in the District as being "very confusing". "There are tension, fear and uncertainty ruling for about a month", stated Stanimirovic, adding that Zagreb's decision to divide the Serb District into two parts can produce only a mass exodus of the Serbs".

PRISTINA - Professors, assistants and other staff of the Faculty of Philosophy in Pristina condemn every abuse of the attempt of assassination of the Pristina University rector, Radivoj Papovic, saying that they are opposed to making any connection between this event and students' protest in Belgrade.
