She made clear that she sees the rule in Serbia as "the successor of the old totalitarian regime", by which she explained the absence of representatives of the Government in Belgrade at yesterday's celebration of the Day of Republika Srpska. "Without a strong and democratic motherland Serbia, we will not survive here either", said Plavsic, adding that Serbia appears to be closer to a real democracy than it has been ever before.BANJALUKA - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) for RS warned that the negotiations about the inter-entity border line, near Brcko, are unfolding in the spirit of blackmails and threats to the Serbian people, and that there is an obvious intention for cutting the RS into two parts and integrating it into the unitary B-H. A communique signed by the leader of the Serbian Radical Party and vice-president of the RS National Assembly, Nikola Poplasen, points at a "a blatant breach of the Dayton agreement" on the part of the Croat-Muslim side, in cooperation with a part of the international community, trying to join the entire town of Brcko and its suburbs to the other entity - the Federation of B- H. BRUSSELS - The Donors' Conference finished its work yesterday in Brussels, with a decision that US $ 60,000,000 be delivered to RS as a symbolic correction of injustice made during the distribution of resources in 1996. BEOGRAD - The high representative of the international community Carl Bildt stated in an interview for "Nasa Borba" that the peace process in the Dayton B-H "stood on its own feet", true, "with the backing of the international community, which presence is still a necessity". He said that the peace process "is not that much dependent upon Belgrade, but since Serbia is the biggest state in the region, situated in its centre, its internal unrest cannot pass without consequences for the region in whole". BRUSSELS - The USA decided to freeze all trade and official relations with FR Yugoslavia, and thus force Belgrade to recognise results of the November 17 municipal elections, reports AFP, referring to official US sources in Belgrade. Spokesman of the Students' Protest who was received in the Serbian Government stated "Serbian Government ordered the revision of the challenged municipal elections results". BEOGRAD - The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) could have recognised the electoral victory of the coalition "Together" in all municipalities in which the second round of elections were cancelled, writes "Dnevni Telegraf", citing well informed sources close to leaders of the Yugoslav leftists, adding that "it would have calmed the political situation, because the ruling party faces a sharp and merciless fight in the up-coming republic and presidential elections". BEOGRAD - One of the closest assistants of the Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic, made a proposal, by the end of December last year, for a way our of the political crisis, but the proposal was played down by the SPS leadership. PODGORICA - The president of the National Party of Monte Negro, Novak Kilibarda, called the Montenegrin president, Momir Bulatovic, to form a democratic political block, consisted of all democratic forces existing in Yugoslavia. Kilibarda said the aim of the block would be taking over the power in Yugoslavia "as a the best solution to the crisis, provoked by the SPS's stealing of opposition's seats at the local elections in Serbia". /end/Copyright © Srpska Novinska Agencija - SRNA Republika SrpskaFrom the Serbian Unity Congress Server at http://www.suc.orgSrpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next Article |
