NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

NOVI GRAD - The Republika Srpska (RS) foreign minister and vice-president of the Serbian Democratic Party of Serbian Lands, Aleksa Buha, sent last night from Novi Grad a congratulation on the occasion of the coming holidays. ""I wish the RS citizens a merry Christmas and a Serbian New Year as well as the international New Year to all who celebrate it", congratulates Buha.

BANJA LUKA - New Year's Eve in Banjaluka was peaceful with far less use of weapons in comparison to the previous celebrations. As the Banjaluka Police Station reports, the organised celebrations of New Year's Eve were arranged mostly in private restaurants. Not a single incident was reported.

DOBOJ - In Doboj, New Year's Eve was celebrated with less noise than last year, but still joyfully, without police intervening, emergency and fire brigades. According to the Doboj Police Station, in spite of warnings not to use weapons, little shooting and few explosions that caused no damage were noted.

VLASENICA - New Year's Eve in Vlasenica was welcomed with inescapable shooting and the use of firecrackers but, luckily, without any consequences.

CLEVELAND - The US press is focusing its attention on Iran's influence over the Muslim government, explaining that despite the reports by US intelligence agencies Clinton's Administration still deceives both domestic and foreign public that Alija Izetbegovic, pressured by Washington, has reduced his ties with Teheran. The Los Angeles Times writes in an article titled "CIA Has Evidence That Iran Gave Money To Izetbegovic" that US intelligence has the evidence that Iran secretly gave US$ half a million to Izetbegovic for the September elections.
