NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - RS president, Biljana Plavsic, talked in Pale with the deputy High Representative for civil affairs, Michael Steiner, about all the issues concerning the further implementation of the Dayton agreement. In the talks, they gave most of their attention to the release of all prisoners and the finding of missing persons. After the meeting, president Plavsic pointed out that Michael Steiner and she agreed with the appointment of three additional commissions for exchange of war prisoners - a Serb, Muslim and Croatian one - for this way the quality of work will be improved and the resolving of the problem accelerated.

TUZLA - IFOR ground forces commander, Michael Walker, stated in Tuzla that his troops have confiscated several deliveries of arms illegally coming to the Croat-Muslim Federation. "We are familiar with all illegal arms deliveries to the Croat-Muslim Federation. Weapons whose delivery is banned, in other words, which is out of the planned quota, will be confiscated", stated Walker after the handing over of the command over the multinational forces at the Tuzla airport.

TUZLA - The former IFOR North Division commander, US general William Nash, handed over the duty to brigadier general Migs Montgomery, the commander of the 1st Infantry Division which is taking on the mandate of the North Division. "I am satisfied with the previous implementation of the military part of the Dayton agreement in the area under our control", stated Nash, adding that he is pleased with the soldiers, but not with the North Division commanders.

DOBOJ - The Office of the High Representative for civil affairs in the Dayton B&H has not enough money for resolving the humanitarian problems in the Doboj area, so the help of the World Bank is necessary, stated Carl Bildt in Doboj. Bildt has for the first time visited Doboj upon the invitation by the IFOR commander in the zone of the area, general Jan Bergstrom.
