THE HAGUE - Prosecutors at the International War Crimes Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia asked to drop a rape charge against Dusan Tadic because one of the witnesses refused to testify. Prosecutors stated that if the witness, a young woman whom Tadic allegedly raped, and whose identification code is "F", refuses to testify, the trial would not be "fair".

LONDON - A secret agreement was reached between Serbia's president Slobodan Milosevic and the Contact Group according to which Belgrade was due to remove the RS president Radovan Karad zic and general Ratko Madic from their functions until February this year, at latest, stated EU commissar Hans van den Bruck in Washington.

ZURICH - The Swiss paper "Tagesanzeiger" writes that the EU members are occupied with a thought how to take the initiative over from the USA in resolving the disputes in the former B-H. "When IFOR withdraws, European forces should take over their role", writes the Swiss paper, quoting the EU commisar Hans van den Bruck, who strongly interceded for a larger European involve ment in the implementation of the Peace Accord for the former B-H.

CLEVELAND - NATO Command in B-H, especially the US admiral Leighton Smith, is being criticised for its softness towards the Serbs, for fearing too much for safety of his soldiers, which is the reason why he fails to protect Muslim civilians wishing to enter the RS. The NATO Command and admiral Smith himself stated that "NATO soldiers, not policemen, are in Bosnia, so thy will not interfere with the clashes of civilians".

BANJALUKA - IFOR' Sector South Command moved yesterday from Gornji Vakuf to Banjaluka, reports AFP.
