[01] THREE AGREEMENTS BETWEEN ZIMBABWE AND FRY HAVE BEEN SIGNED
At the end of the official visit of Yugoslav President Lilic
to Zimbabwe, three bilateral agreements have been signed: on the
protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation and
public transportation. "The agreements signed today confirm once
more the quality of our relations. I expect that the relations
with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia will be broadened in the
future. We want you to be our partners in our development, and
we hope for a greater participation of Yugoslav companies in this
sense, and we will do everything possible to make this happen",
said President Mugabbe. "Zimbabwe and Yugoslavia, as well as
numerous African countries that are our friends, gave a major
contribution to the humanization of international relations and
to the struggle for a more just treatment of developing
countries. We have solidified and strengthened our relations, and
our future task is to develop our economic cooperation", said
President Lilic, who will proceed to Ghana after his visit to
Zimbabwe.

[02] MAJOR CONTRIBUTION TO THE AFFIRMATION OF EQUALITY AMONG MEN AND NATIONS
The President of the Republic of Serbia - Mr. Slobodan
Milosevic, received the delegation of the town of Backa Palanka,
comprising local political and industrial representatives. They
informed the President that about the successful growth of Backa
Palanka and stressed in particular that this year Liberation Day
will be marked by the inauguration of a new school for 1.500
children, a modern circumvolution and a new post office. The port
on the river Danube is under construction and the local economy
is quite successful. President Milosevic said that Backa Palanka
and its people gave a great contribution to the development of
the area and to the affirmation of equality among nations and
individuals. Bearing in mind that some 20 nationalities co-exist
in Backa Palanka, this town and the province of Vojvodina should
represent an example of life in common for all European nations
facing the new century, said President Milosevic.

[03] SUCCESSFUL TOUR OF LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES
The Yugoslav state-business delegation returned to Belgrade
after a ten day visit to Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina. Federal
Deputy Premier - Mr. Jovan Zebic, that headed the delegation,
stated that along with the renewal of political dialogue,
foundation has been laid for a rapid evolution of comprehensive
trade cooperation with these countries and the quick return of
the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to the world market. In all
the political encounters we had, our hosts acknowledged the
contribution FR Yugoslavia has given to the implementation of the
Dayton document, stressed that they recognize the state-legal
continuity of FRY, and accepted the trade agreements signed
previously. Brazil officials even suggested the formation of a
business council to enhance mutual trade - added Mr. Zebic.

[04] SHIPS FOR THE WORLD
Two new vessels worth 23 million German marks, are to be
built by the "Sava" shipyard in Macvanska Mitrovica for the
"Damen" shipping corporation from Holland. The new contract
represent a continuation of good business relations with the
Slovak company "Martin Meks-Omega", representing the Dutch
corporation. Before this contract, the "Sava" shipyard has
secured orders for the entire coming year. In fact contract for
the construction of 16 vessels worth 123 million German marks
have been signed.

[05] CONSTITUENT SESSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA PARLIAMENT
At the constituent session of the Republic of Srpska held
in Banjaluka on Saturday, Mr. Dragan Kalinic has been elected
Spokesman, and Mr. Miroslav Vjestica and Dr. Nikola Poplasen his
deputies. Republic of Srpska President - Ms. Biljana Plavsic gave
current Prime Minister Gojko Klickovic the mandate to form the
new Republic of Srpska Cabinet. The Parliament elected Vojislav
Maksimovic, Borivoja Sendica, Milan Krnjajic, Borislav Paravic
and Momir Tosic to be the deputies of the RS Parliament in the
Chamber of Nations of the Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

[06] CONTACT GROUP MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENCY OF B&H
The members of the International Contact group for Bosnia
are due in Sarajevo today. They will try to accelerate the
process of introduction of the trilateral Presidency of B&H -
revealed the Bosnian Foreign Ministry. The agenda also includes
Contact Group talks with Momcilo Krajisnik, Kresimir Zubak and
Alija Izetbegovic, a meeting with the representatives of the
Moslem-Croatian Federation and a trip to Banjaluka - capital of
the Republic of Srpska. The most important issues that will be
discussed include the implementation of the Dayton Agreement, the
forming of common institutions, the return of war refugees, and
questions concerning the forthcoming local elections in Bosnia.

[07] MOSLEMS THREATEN TO COLLECTIVELY EVACUATE LIVNO
Mr. Jasenko Tufekcic - Chairman of the Democratic Action
Party (SDA) branch in the town of Livno, told the Moslem media
that Croatian Defense Council units are using repression and
harassment against the remaining 4.000 Moslems in the town. The
people insist that we should collectively leave town or that we
be allowed to defend ourselves in a self-organized way - Tufekcic
said. He also reminded that Croatian extremists recently blew up
four Moslem houses in the center of the town and that since the
creation of the Bosnian Federation this was the 105th terrorist
attack on Moslem religious buildings and houses in this area. In
his opinion, the explosions are just another episode in the
continuous breach of human rights and freedom. "In this area
there are no authorities, no law, and I too want to leave",
warned the SDA Chairman in Livno.

[08] CROATIA IS ALREADY ABUSING THE LAW ON THE AMNESTY FOR THE SERBS
The Croatian branch of the Helsinki Committee, revealed that
at least two Serbs - recently released from jail in accordance
on the Amnesty Law - have been newly arrested and accused of war
crimes - Associated Press reports. In view of the Croatian
Amnesty Law, 88 Serbs accused of armed rebellion against Croatia
have been released from jail this month, but about 100 more are
still detained. "Vladimir Korac and Milan Vignjevic (from
Karlovac) have been released and then arrested again. We fear
that there will be a growing number of similar cases", said Mr.
Ivan Zvonimir Cicak of the Croatian Helsinki Committee. He also
added: "The Amnesty Law has been manipulated. It is a method of
intimidation: Croatia does not want them here and does not want
other Serbs to return."

[09] PRESERVING THE INTEGRITY OF THE REGIONS
During a meeting with a delegation of the Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Vukovar, the
head of the local government - Dr. Vojislav Stanimirovic,
illustrated the Serbian position about the future of the region
after the withdrawal of UNTAES "Based on the Erdut Agreement and
the multi-ethnic character of this Region - the only one of its
kind in Croatia - we insist that the Region continue to be a
integral administrative entity within Croatia, which would not
jeopardize Croatian interests. We can not accept the current
plans to divide the Region into two counties", Stanimirovic said.
He also added that due to all the things that happened in the
region in the past several years, and bearing in mind the
specific character of the territory - without questioning the
fact that the Region is part of Croatia - the Serbian population
insists that the Region be demilitarized, and that voluntary
drafting principle be applied. "In order to ensure the survival
of the population in this territory, as well as its physical,
economic, social and legal security, international community
monitoring over a longer period of time - five to ten years -
must be applied", stressed Dr. Stanimirovic.

[10] NO TALKS WITH ALOIS MOCK
In view of his repeated verbal attacks, fabrications and
slander directed against the Serbian people, the delegation of
the Executive Council of the Serbian Region of Eastern Slavonija,
Baranja and Western Srem, refused to take part in the Vukovar
talks between former Austrian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Alois Mock and the UN Transitional Administrator Jacques Klein.
This stand has been assumed after Mock's visit to Zagreb
yesterday. The communique released by the regional press center
reiterates the role played by Alois Mock in the disintegration
of former Yugoslavia, confirmed by the high decoration he has
been awarded yesterday by Croatian President Tudjman. Thanking
for the decoration, Mr. Mock congratulated Croatia on the
"successful liberation operations" of regions that more than
200.000 Serbs had to escape from due to the Croatian
"liberators". Although we have been aware of Mr. Mock's
vocabulary for years, we expected that -now that peace has come -
he would renounce to the rhetoric he used against the Serbian
people for so many years", said the head of the regional
government - Mr. Vojislav Stanimirovic.

[11] SLOVENIA, CROATIA AND BOSNIA IMPORTED ARMS ILLEGALLY
Former Slovenian Defense Minister Janez Jansa revealed that
Slovenia, Croatia and the Bosnian Moslems breached the UN arms
embargo, and that there are documents confirming it. In an
interview for Reuters news agency, Mr. Jansa reiterated that
"everyone knew that Slovenia had to purchase arms illegally
before the war, during the war and during the embargo". The
decision to buy arms was adopted by the Slovenian Defense Council
headed by President Milan Kucan - Jansa said and added that
complete reports on arms purchases made by Slovenia, Croatia and
Bosnia exist.
