  • COMRAS: DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS WITH U.S.- WHEN THEY BRING POLITICAL STABILITY

"Nova Makedonija" asked the head of the U.S. Liaisons Office in Skopje Victor Comras why diplomatic relations between the U.S. and the Republic of Macedonia have still not been established.

Victor Comras: "The U.S. Liaisons Office has made great efforts over the last year to expand and strengthen our bilateral relations. These relations reflect the close friendship and connections that exist between our countries. The United States of America restrained from establishing full diplomatic relations due to our concern that it could do more damage than ease the solution for the resolution of the dispute between Greece and FYR Macedonia. We encourage both sides to show flexibility and to come to a solution over the controversial issues. We will establish diplomatic relations as soon as possible, as soon as it becomes apparent that such diplomatic relations will present a positive stabilizing act for the region as a whole."
