  • [01] Albanian Youngster, Him& Haradinaj, Third Fatality in Serb Attack in Gllogjan

PRISHTINA, March 29 (KIC) - The 17-year-old Him& Haradinaj, native of Gllogjan, died of wounds received during an assault of Serbian forces on the Gllogjan village of De^an, in western Kosova, last Tuesday, 24 March, local sources said.

Two young Albanians, cousins Agron Mehmetaj and Gamend Mehmetaj, 19 and 20 years-old respectively, were killed by Serb forces that day and buried in their native village Friday.

Fellow villagers found the body of youngster Him& Haradinaj early afternoon today (Sunday), in the woods between Shaptej village and the Radoniq lake in the Gjakova municipality.

Albanian-language Bujku newspaper referred today to eye-witnesses who claimed Him& Haradinaj had been wounded on 24 March, and seen running away the scene of Serb attack (Gllogjan) towards the Radoniq lake, two to three kilometers way from Gllogjan.

The corpse of Him& had been first spotted four days ago, but could not be collected because of the extremely dangerous situation amidst Serb force's presence.

Earlier this month more than 80 Albanian civilians were slain in their homes or summarily executed by heavily-armed Serb police/(para)military forces in the Drenica region.

Serb forces have been digging in and holding a strong grip on entire Albanian villages in the region, despite calls by the Contact Group for Serb special unit forces to withdraw.
