HOLBROOKE - IZETBEGOVIC

Sarajevo, September 3O,1995 (Press TWRA) - After six hours long negotiations with the highest B-H officials the U.S.Asst. Secy. of State R. Holbrooke interrupted the talks in order to have the additional consultation in Belgrade and Zagreb. The main topic of the talks in Sarajevo was cease fire in B-H. About one of the B-H Governments conditions for cease fire R. Holbrooke said: "U.S. Government wants to see the free access and exit from Sarajevo, without any obstacles. I will talk about this specially today with president Milosevic". President Izetbegovic stressed on the press conference that B-H Government as one of the conditions for cease fire demands the opening of three roads toward Gorazde. He stressed that they also talked about the relations within B-H Federation. The agreement on more rapid implementation of B-H Cantons was reached and that the problem of establishing of Federal Police Forces and joint B-H Federation Headquarters which would besides the representatives of B-H Army and HVO include U.S. officers was taken into consideration. SERBS ATTACK GRADACAC AND GRACANICA

Sarajevo, September 3O,1995 (Press TWRA) - In the last 24 hours Karadjic's Serbs fired from far range canons on Gradacac,reported the B-H Army's 2nd Corps press center. Several missiles were fired on town's center. Material damage is great. From Mt. Ozren Serbs from mortars and howitzers fired on villages around Gracanica. (end) S.K.

NATO PREPARE PEACE MISSION IN B-H

Brussels, September 3O,1995 (Press TWRA) - As NATO spokesman reported the Council of NATO officially demanded from its military experts to prepare the deployment of thousands of solider (Russian soldiers would also be included) to B-H who would monitor the implementation of peace. This preparation will be based on political plan made by the Council after the role and actions of UN were taken into account."Everything is settled, and military structures have the task to, in next week or ten days, make their part of the plan. One of the biggest discussions was about the role of NATO. France supported the clearly determined and very important role of UN while U.S. gave U.N. subordinated role. In this case the U.S. position was accepted so that U.N. will deal only with civilian issues. It is clear that they will not interfere with military operations. There will be no double key", said one NATO official. NATO will deal with military side of the whole operation while U.N. will be responsible for the problems of refugees, humanitarian aid and political relations between the sides in conflict. The NATO mission will only last for 12 months before it is left to U.N. or some other force which would stay there as long as it is necessary to establish peace and help reconstruction. Sixteen representatives of the countries members of NATO agreed that forces for B-H must be armed and ready to attack if necessary. From military experts NATO demands to establish flexible commanding structure which would enable the participation of countries which are not members of NATO like Russia or islamic countries.

EU MORE ACTIVE IN BOSNIA

Madrid, Oct 1, 1995 (Press TWRA) - In Luxembourg tomorrow EU ministers will discuss ways to help Bosnia and conditions for its realization, announced was from the Madrid EU seat. French and German foreign ministers De Charette and Kinkel have already given the Council of ministers proposals for the peace plan implementation, refugee problem solution, humanitarian aid delivery and regional security questions. EU administrator for central and eastern Europe H. van den Broek should inform the ministers on the EU role in international efforts to reach stabile political and economic system in the area. EU members point out that the overall economic cooperation in reconstruction of Bosnia and Croatia will be conditioned by implementation of the peace plan, respect of human and minority rights and free willing return of refugees. The fifteen will insist from all sides in Bosnia on providing the real market and beginning of cooperation with the International Court in The Hague. EU will demand establishment of relations among the states created after disintegration of former Yugoslavia. (end) F.N.

HOLBROOKE - MILOSEVIC

Belgrade, Oct 1, 1995 (Press TWRA) - US State secretary assistant R. Holbrooke talked yesterday with Serbian president Milosevic on conditions for the cease-fire in Bosnia. Before leaving he pointed out the sides in the conflict have different attitudes on main problems. They do not agree on the status of Sarajevo and Brcko, Posavina corridor and Gorazde, nor the constitution principles. "Both sides wish to stop the fighting but they cannot agree on the ways to do it", Holbrooke stated. (end) F.N.

MUTUAL ACCUSATIONS

Sarajevo, Belgrade, Oct 1, 1995 (Press TWRA) - Bosnian prime minister Silajdzic accused Serbs yesterday for obstructing the peace process by making armed provocations like those in Zenica and Travnik recently. "Yugoslav" foreign minister Milutinovic accused the Bosnian government for trying to postpone the peace process by prolonging the decision on cease-fire. (end) F.N.

MRKONJIC-GRAD LIBERATED?

Sarajevo, Oct 1, 1995 (Press TWRA) - Bosnian radio reported the units of the Bosnian army 7th Corp's 17th brigade are on Mt. Manjaca. This was confirmed yesterday by "Oslobodjenje". From new peaks Banja Luka is 20 km distanced. Same sources say the 7th Corp is still advancing, despite heavy Serb artillery attacks. High Bosnian defence ministry official stated the action to liberate Mrkonjic-grad began yesterday from Jajce direction. Agencies reported yesterday on large scale fighting around Mrkonjic grad. These information can only mean the 7th Corp, stationed in Travnik liberated Mrkonjic grad and, by fortifying=20 positions, continued towards Mt. Manjaca. Same source added, despite BBC's assumptions, Croatian army allowed 7th Corp to pass through their positions around Jajce.

HOLBROOKE - TUDJMAN

Zagreb, October 1,1995 (Press TWRA) - The U.S. Asst. Secy. of State R. Holbrooke after Sarajevo and Belgrade arrived to Zagreb in order to talk with Croatian President Tudjman. "The sides in conflict in B-H are still far away from agreement on cease fire", said Holbrooke after the talks with Tudjman adding that they also "talked about the situation in West Bosnia and East Slavonia. The U.S. position on solving the problem of East Slavonia is very clear. That is Croatian territory and the peace process should lead to its peaceful reintegration". Tomorrow the Asst. Secy. of State Holbrooke returns to Sarajevo in order to resume the talks with President Izetbegovic. (end) S.K.

GRANIC ON EAST SLAVONIA

Zagreb, October 1,1995 (Press TWRA) - After return from New York the Croatian Foreign Minister M. Granic summoned the main course of Croatian policy in relation to the solution of East Slavonian problem: "In her proposal Croatia agrees with the transitory period, but she does not accept neither referendum in east Slavonia nor the special status of Serbs on that territory. Croatia accepts the peace initiative, but she will never give up on East Slavonia, Baranja and West Srijem". Granic emphasized that in his speech on the UN General Assembly's 5Oth session he said that "Croatia will not give up on her right to establish the integrity of Croatian occupied territories using other means, if the peaceful solution is not found". NEW ATTACKS ON ZENICA

Sarajevo, October 1,1995 (Press TWRA) - B-H Radio reported that today around noon three projectiles were fired on Zenica. It is still not established neither from which Serbian positions the projectiles were fired nor what are the consequences of these attack. (end) S.K.

MUFTI WAS NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER JAJCE

Paris, October 1,1995 (Press TWRA) - As Radio "Free Europe" reported the local authorities in Jajce did not allow Travnik's Mufti, who wanted to visit Islamic religious objects to enter the town. At the cheque point on the entrance to Jajce Mufti was stopped and ordered to return back. The Radio "Free Europe" commentary said that "it is very likely that the ordinary citizens, Bosniaks, will also come across the same obstacles trying to return to their homes in Jajce". (end) S.K.

RUSSIAN BORDER ON BALKANS

Moscow, October 1,1995 (Press TWRA) - Commenting on the press conference the Russian intention to send the soldiers to peace keeping mission on the Balkans, Russian Defence Minister Pavel Gracev said: "Russia is forced to send her soldiers on the Balkans not only because of her intention to achieve the equal balance of united peace forces toward the all sides in conflict but also because she is worried about her own safety.
