[09] Boundary lines of Serb "cantons" approach Prishtine

PRISHTINE, Sept 5 (ATA)-The boundary lines of the cantons claimed by the Serbs are nearing Prishtine, sources from Kosova told ATA on Sunday.

According to the sources, one is five km. south, at the Serb's barricades in Gracanice, and the Serbs continue to keep the Prishtine - Gjilan road blocked.

The Albanian population left this region after the Serb paramilitaries' attacks at the beginning of the week.

The other boundary line is approached 10 km northwest of Prishtine, as the near Plementin village, Obliq commune, is annexed to the so-called "Serb canton" of Prilluzh village, Vushtri commune, Kosova sources explain.

In order to reinforce the division lines around Prilluzh, two bridges over the Llap and Sitnice rivers have long since been ruined, while in Plementin on Saturday the Serb paramilitaries destroyed the bridge over Sitnice river to prevent crossing to Albanian villages.

The Serbs, according to reports of the Human Rights Council, have burnt 42 tents, which housed Albanian families in Plementin, whose houses had earlier been burnt by the Serbs. The Albanians are also prohibited classes in the village's school.

The Millosheve village, by the Prishtine-Mitrovice road, is also reported to be prepared to join the Serb "canton" of Prilluzhe of Plementin. /dast/lm/
