From the Summit Albania secured membership in the group of the countries that will work for their joint integration in the developed Europe. Including Kosova in the fourth paragraph of the approved declaration can be considered a success of the Albanian delegation. An important point, according to the Albanian delegation members, was the fact that the summit stressed that it will be the local companies those which will be assisted and supported in implementing the projects of construction and development. The Albanian delegation also expressed itself in favour of a close cooperation with Kosova. On this occasion, Minister of Culture Edi Rama said that Albania will no more be the only state in the world without a cinema, although one cinema is very little for a country in the heart of Europe. The cinema, costing US$ 300 000, is fruit of the initiative of the share-holding company "IDA shpk", as well as of a financial aid provided by the Albanian government. For its functioning, several conditions have been put such as ticket price reduction for a certain category of people, the implementation of an anti-pornographic policy, show of films for children on Sundays, and the engagement of the share-holding company in introducing and showing Albanian films. In the '90s, when private economy was introduced in Albania, many movies were privatised and changed destination, turning into clubs, game halls, bingo, storehouses and other premises. /pas/lm/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: From the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) Home Page at http://www.telpress.it/ataAlbanian Telegraphic Agency Directory - Previous Article - Next Article |
