[01] "Albanian Voice" returns to KosovaTIRANA, July 25 (ata) - By Ardi Pulaj: Kosova media has now started its normal activity in Prishtine.The news agency "Kosova Press" and radio "Free Kosova" although established in extremely difficult conditions and outside Kosova were the first to start their activity in the Press Palace in Kosova capital. Newspaper Rilindja published for years in Tirane, has resumed publication in Prishtine after 9 years. In the mean time, efforts are underway for the publication of the independent newspaper Koha Ditore in Prishtine with publisher Veton Surroi, member of the delegation in Rambouillet. Time ago, in an interview with the Voice of America, regarding the further development of media in Kosove, Surroi said that "an independent media and a civil democratic society are the main pillars for the reconstruction of Kosova." Despite opening of various stations, the news agencys and the press organs in Kosova, the main problem remains the broadcasting in Radio- Television of Prishtina. Representatives of the staff of this station, former Albanian staff, the United Nations Organization and KFOR are working so that Radip-television of Prishtine resume programs in the Albanian language. /led/xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[02] Bilateral relations with Italy must be raised to a higher level - deputy PMTIRANE, July 25 (ata) - Over a several day visit to Italy in the lead of a government delegation, Albanian Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta pointed out that the bilateral relations of Albania with Italy are very good and as such they must raised to a higher level, especially those in the economic field.The spokesman of the Ministry of Public Economy and Privatization said that Meta has stressed during the visit that Italy is one of the main partners of Albania and the contribution of the Italian government through government finance and the presence of the Italian private capital in the Albanian economy. "But in the context of a new reality in the region, after the overcome of the crisis in Kosove, and with Albania's development included in the new Stability Pact, which implies the development of the entire region, these relations must be intensified through concrete commitments in concrete projects," said Meta. In the meetings with Italian Minister of Industry, Bersani, with the Minister of Foreign Trade, Fassino, deputy Foreign Minister Ranieri and other personalities of the Italian politics and economy, deputy Prime Minister Meta underscored some initiatives of the Albanian Government such as the new fiscal package which will be prepared for negotiation with the IMF, the drafting of the full legal context of privatization, the beginning of privatization of strategic sectors, etc. Albanian Minister of Public Economy and Privatization, Ylli Bufi, presented some concrete projects of the Albanian Government in the fields of the infrastructure of energy and telecommunications. Work is going on for the reconstruction of the maternity home in the centre of Pojan communes, the rehabilitation of the water reservoir in Voskopoje and for the out patient clinic which is being reconstructed in Gorrice e Vogel. Daci said that in addition to this, the association will give to the peasant women in these communes credits up to 500 thousand lek for the creation of small businesses. The association has its headquarters in Korce, a centre in which women will attend courses for computer and will be trained for small businesses. /pas/xh/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[05] Measures to guarantee control in port of DurresTIRANE, July 25 (ata) - The measures to be adopted today will be applied for the first time in Albania and aim to guarantee a full control in the main gate which links Albania with the world and which is the port of Durres, stressed the Albania's Premier Pandeli Majko in the meeting of the Interministerial Committee of the National Security, held on Saturday.The Information Ministry reports that the agenda of the meeting included the measures for the protection and security of the port of Durres, to avoid corruption, smuggling and any other activity which runs counter to the law. These hot days they prefer the sand of the Vjose river coast along the small southern city.People of every age with sun umbrellas and bags full the empty roads of the city in Sunday mornings. More enthusiastic are the youths that go to the coast with private cars or taxes during these hot days. The beach in Tepelene starts since the beginning of June, where the strongest "visit" the cold and rushing waters of Vjose. Beginning of July marks the start of massive frequentation of the river beach, while the end of the same month marks its peak. At least 5 000 people are reported by Tepelene town-hall sources and police sources to rest along the coast of the river this week-end starting from Subashi up to the exit of Memaliaj city. While Tepelene people try to find the real paradise along the shore, tens of small businessmen try to profit from the chance. City-hall authorities and those of the prefecture have estimated the selling points along the Vjose to be 24. They are mainly restaurants, bars, units where the refreshments are sold and the like. "However it can be too early to speak about an area that in the future can take real touring values, but a draft-plan for the future of the whole area in Tepelene should start" officials from the Tepelene town-hall say. /pas/A.A/ D'Arc Avenue 23, Tirana, Albania E-Mail: Albanian Telegraphic Agency[08] Preparations carried out for the Summit to be held next week in SarajevoTIRANE, July 25 (ATA) - By Ilir Paço: Finish presidency of European Union and the Foreign Ministry of Bosnia-Hercegovina held Saturday in Sarajevo a meeting with the Political Directorates of the regional countries, to set the Summit program that will be organized in July 29.Participating in the meeting in Sarajevo were even representatives of Albanian Foreign Ministry, the press office close to this ministry told ATA on Sunday. In the high level Summit in Sarajevo despite other leaders of the region will take place even the American President, Bill Clinton and other western leaders. According to the information of Foreign Ministry, representatives of some countries proposed to widen the format of the Summit even with the participation of other countries interested in the Pact of Stability. This issue was let to be discussed in other meetings before the summit. Sarajevo Summit is considered of a high importance for setting the projects of Balkian region development.
