  • [01] Berisha aggravates situation - HRUP leader

    BERAT, Jan 11 (ATA)-By I. Manka,

The Human Rights Unions Party (HRUP) branch in Berat held its conference on Saturday which focused on the balance-sheet and working directions of this branch.

The leader of HRUP, Vasil Melo, asked that the government coalition and the round table in the centre has a broader extension to the grassroots "for a more fruitful performance".

Responding to the interest shown by delegates in the political actions and options of Sali Berisha, Melo said that "he is precisely the one who incites and destabilises the situation".

Melo referred to the killings and violent acts against the police and state as "the black hand". They are incited by Berisha, he said, also making him responsible for the failure of the constitution, which was turned down by the people.

"That constitution, except 4-5 regressive articles, which were powerfully defended by Berisha and which should be removed, is good," said Melo.

Melo was categoric as regards approval of the constitution this year. s.sh/kled/lm
