[02] DP CONCERNED ABOUT MANIPULATION OF ELECTIONS OUTCOME BY SP

TIRANA, JULY 1 (ATA) - The Democratic party addressed a protest to the head of the Council of Ministers Bashkim Fino, Election authority and OSCE which was signed by the party leader Tritan Shehu.

The protest said "The Albanian Democratic Party (DP) based on reliable information, expressed concern about a manipulating and violent campaign of the SP exponents towards the election outcome in some areas of Albania. Pressure has been used on heads of election commission in Lushnje, Fier, Tirana, Kukes, Has, Elbasan and some other areas thus changing a large part of the results by using violence and terror against the DP representatives.

The DP informs that such extremist acts which aim at having only Socialist deputies in a new parliament are deepening the political crisis in Albania. The DP urges you and institutions you represent to intervene and halt this dangerous political adventure. On the contrary, the Democratic party will reconsider its stand adopted so far on June 29 elections," the protest concluded. kled/ak/sh/
