[06] ALBA: WE WILL WARN BEFORE HELICOPTERS ARE LANDED

TIRANA, MAY 31 (ATA) - By R. Floqi: The Multinational Protection Forces will inform before in cases when their air engines will land in southern districts.

"The forces of Alba mission will inform before their air engines: airplanes and helicopters, are landed," said the spokesman of the Commander general in Tirana, lieutenant colonel Giovani Bernardi.

The helicopters were not damaged in both cases, yesterday in Vlore and two days ago in Gjirokaster. If they would have been shot, according to the UNO mandate, the MPF should shoot on the persons who attack them.

Bernardi has commented the case of Vlore "not as an attack against the "Alba" forces, but as a precipitate action of some irritated people".

"All our air engines will land within a day and after having informed before, but in the case of the little girl there was not time to inform."

Bernardi assured that the injured 14 year old girl is under medical treatment in the town of Bari, but unfortunately she has not come out of coma yet.

An intensive gunfire was opened against an Italian helicopter last night which tried to land in the airfield in the city of Vore.

It was a gunfire by various kinds of arms, including machine guns of 12.7 mm, which put at stake even the lives of the crew which was then forced to return to Brindizi.

[07] JUNE 29 - THE DAY OF OUR GREAT VICTORY

    - President Berisha meets with inhabitants of Shkoder city -

SHKODER, MAY 31 (ATA) - By Myfit Malja: The 29th of June will be the day of our great victory, said Albanian President Sali Berisha in the meeting he had today at noon with inhabitants of Shkoder city.

Taking the floor, President Berisha expressed his conviction that Shkodra democrats, who have always supported the Democratic Party and Shkodra, as the most martyrized city by the communist regime, will know to become masters of democracy which is being violated by the rebels of the committees.

Berisha appealed to Shkodra democrats and to every Albanian that today, more than ever, it is high time to salve Albania and Albanian democracy from those who want to divide the country and are sowing the seed of national split.

The communist phantasm, said Mr Berisha, is trying to harm our properties, Albanian democracy, its achievements in front of Europe, therefore, despite dissatisfaction for DP, he said, "don't lose faith in this party which is fighting for your future and the future of our children, because any indifference from you will be fatal for the June 29 elections."

The rebels groups want to establish the power of the gangs and commitees, they do not want the power of the free votes, said Berisha.

The communist rebellion, he said further on, is launching riots like a beast, torching, destroying bridges, homes, institutions and has established in some southern towns the power of violence. Berisha invited once more the people of Shkodra to vote for the DP program, which he comsidered to be the best, as a program which aims at consolidating the Albaia's democracy and its intergration in Euro-Atlantic structures.

The chairman of the Presidency of the People's Assembly Pjeter Arbnori, the DP Secretary General, Genc Pollo, deputy Azem Hajdari, representatives of religious communities also spoke in the meeting.

Then, President Berisha responded the questions by those present. He voiced once more the commitment that Shkodra be declared a free trade zone and taxes of the mearchants be lower. xh/sh/
