NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The Council of Ministers of B&H will consider in Serbian Sarajevo the implementation of the Law on Council and performance of the Budget and Permanent Law about the customs policy in B&H. The members will discuss about the Law on refugees and displaced persons. According to the proposal of Agenda, made by co-presiding Haris SIlajdzic, the Council of Ministers should discuss the annexes 1 and 2 of the Agreement on determining the customs border crossings and Protocol about the border railway traffic between B&H and Croatia.

BONN - The situation on Kosmet is the theme of the representatives of Contact Group at the level of political directors who met in the castle on the hill Petersborg near Bonn - reports DPA. The topic is the future status, as the say, of this region settled by the Albanian majority.

STOCKHOLM - The terrorists of self-styled "Liberation Army of Kosovo" /KLA/ should come soon under the direct command of Ibrahim Rugova - claim well informed Albanian sources in Sweden, from which the Albanian associations are sending to Rugova and the HQ of KLA half a million of Swedish crowns. These are the newest assessments and data which report the Swedish press, according to talks with Albanian leaders in Sweden who claim that the money for arms of so called KLA is being collected and sent from the special funds between mostly known are "Fund for assistance" and "Fund for the fatherland".

NEW YORK - The Greek minister of Defence Akis Tsohatsopulous warned in New York that "revisionist policy of Turkey brings into question all international contracts by which are determined borders on Balkans, i.e. current status quo, and demands 100 Greek islands in Aegean sea". This assessment Tsohatsopulous has presented before the New York Council of Foreign Relations/. The Greek minister of Defence expects from the Secretary General of NATO Javier Solana to bring the measures which will decrease tensions between Greece and Turkey.

JERUSALEM - The centre "Simon Wiesental" from Jerusalem, which deals with searching the former Nazis and their collaborators, demanded yesterday from Croatia the investigation against the former "ustasha's" commander Ivo Rojnica, who is hidden in Argentina - as well as the recently delivered war criminal Dinko Sakic, the commander of the infamous "ustasha's" extermination camp Jasenovac. This centre in its announcement stated that Rojnica was a commander of the city of Dubrovnik in 1941 and that he is involved in numerous arresting and deporting of civilians and confiscation of their property - report the agencies.

MOSTAR - The spokesman of the High Representative Simon Haselock stated yesterday that the stance of the Mostar deputy mayor Ivan Prskalo towards the leader of the Regional Office of that organisation in Mostar Martin Gerrod causes the concern of international community and that Carlos Westendorp considers the measures which he could undertake - reports the Croatian radio Herceg Bosna.

MOSCOW - Two greatest stock markets at the European continent, Frankfurt's and London's, have intention to merge soon - report the Russian media, calling upon the Western media. The world media are assessing that this decision is equal to establishing European Central Bank, because it is obvious that this giant will became the greatest European equity market, and the degree of centralisation of stock activities will be stronger than in U.S.A.

BANJA LUKA - The president of Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ Milorad Dodik has talked in Banja Luka with the director of the World Bank in B&H Rorry O'Sullivan about crediting the development of power utility in RS, especially development of the great electro-energetic system Buk-Bijela. The details about this credit arrangement will be announced for two days - was confirmed to journalists in the Cabinet of president of Government.

BANJA LUKA - The minister of education in RS Nenad Suzic has announced at the press conference of the Socialistic party of RS in Banja Luka that Government will at one of the next sessions consider the document "Strategic and conceptional changes in the system of education in RS". Suzic has explained that in question is the strategic document for advancement of educational work in RS in accordance with the world standards, in which were contained most positive experiences from this field from 24 states of the world. He announced that this document will be sent at the public discussion and will be submitted to different objections and proposals.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Serbian Monarchy association of RS Milan Gvozdenovic stated in Banja Luka that this association is coming out at the next elections on September with full lists for National Assembly of RS and House of Representatives of Parliamentary assembly of B&H. "The first on list for National Assembly of RS is Mirjana Vlaisavljevic, and for House of Representatives Slavko Crnic" - said Gvozdenovic at the press conference.

BRCKO - The OSCE office of in Brcko has opened the Service centre for political parties in this city, which should ease the campaign for impending general elections in B&H. In the premises of the Centre the representatives of the political parties could get all necessary information about the rules for elections and procedure of voting along with use of telephone and computers, will be enabled to hold press conference and other gatherings during electoral campaign.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Association for refugees and displaced persons for remaining in RS Bosko Bajic stated at the press conference that in eight local communities in Banja Luka already polled 4,000 refugees who said where they want to live. Bajic has announced that polling of refugees and displaced persons will soon start in Prijedor, Gradiska, Novi grad and other places, and that nine groups, members of this Association, started to work on determined projects of solving status of this category of population.

VISEGRAD - The representatives of the ministry for refugees and displaced persons and urbanism and construction of RS, municipal assembly of Visegrad and Directorate for renewal and development have signed yesterday the contract about development of settlement for refugees in whole municipality. According to Alexandar Savic, the president of municipal assembly of Visegrad, by signing this contract became operative the resources in the amount of 1,1 million of DEM allocated for this purpose by RS Government. By the contract was precisely stated that the contractor in the settlements Garca, Prelovo and Bikavac will be GIP Granit.

BANJA LUKA - THe chief of Staff of Army of RS /VRS/ colonel general Momir Talic has congratulated to all officers, teachers, workers in army and pupils in the Centre of military schools "Rajko Balac" the Day of the Centre - July 12. General Talic has reminded that "the teachers and students of the Centre, during the war frequently have been leaving cathedra and school benches and directly in the battle with enemy passed examinations from courage, training and attachment to fatherland and Serbian people".

PEC - According to the newest reports, last night in Kosovo was peaceful , with the exception of minor shooting between members of terroristic groups and Serbian police, which are taking possession of check-points on the main roads. Three days fighting in the municipality Pec was finished yesterday, when the members of MUP of Serbia have broken strong terroristic strongholds, and forced terrorists to flee away.

VUCITRN - On the road between the village Pantina and railroad line in Vucitrn yesterday was found hardly wounded and unconscious Sveta Simic /69/ from the village Hercegovo kidnapped by the Albanian terrorists on June 26 - learns SRNA from the representative of local authorities in Vucitrn. Sveta Simic was transported to the surgical section of the hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica.

GENEVA - The spokesman of self-styled "Liberation Army of Kosovo" Mahmut Bardil has assessed in Geneva that "the unification of Kosovo with Albania is the possible solution of the armed conflict in this Southern Serbian province" - reports DPA. "We are not ready to talk about the future form of our state before Serbian oppressors leave this territory" - stated BArdil and added that "in case of longer fighting with Serbian units Albanians from Macedonia and Albania would take arms into their hands."

DOBOJ - THe Moslem youngsters from Gracanica, in Federation B&H, are engaged as mercenaries on the side of ALbanians on Kosovo and Metohija - learns SRNA from the sources close to the Moslem authorities in Gracanica who wanted to remain unknown. According to them, two persons are identified in that place who are recruiting young men, especially from, in the war well known terroristic group "Mosque pigeons".

VIENNA - THe premier of Bulgaria Ivan Kostov demanded fromthe international community to furthermore continue with pressures on Yugoslavian president Slobodan Liosevic in order to reach the solution of the crisis in Kosovo and Metohija, but he stressed that he is against any kind of military intervention until all diplomatic means are exhausted. In an interview to the Vienna news "Presse" he said that "it is normal that Bulgaria, which as the neighbour is mostly under the impact of problems in Kosmet, must be precocious and, like all who are against intervention, demand faster progress in solving crisis by various pressures".

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic has talked in Banja Luka with the newly appointed chief of the mission of UNICEF and the special representative for the former Yugoslavia Stephen Alain about implementation of the Convention on rights of the child. The president of RS has assessed that the visit of Mr. Alain is of the great significance and stressed that UNICEF will have significant support in RS>

BANJA LUKA - The chief of the monitoring mission of EU the Austrian diplomat Franz Parak has stressed in Banja Luka, in talks with the president of Republika Srpska Biljana Plavsic, that he is content with the development of the situation in RS> Parak has accentuated that RS is part of Europa and wished prosperity to its citizens, in order to heal after the aftermath of the war.

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik has received in Pale the chief of the Regional centre of the European monitoring mission Horst Deneke, with whom he debated the actual issues of impending elections, as well as the replacement at the top of monitoring mission of EU in B&H. As announced from the Cabinet of president Krajisnik, during the brief and cordial talks Deneke has foreshadowed the visit of the newly appointed ambassador Franz Parak during the next week.

SARAJEVO - The session of the Council of Ministers of B&H, which started in Serbian Sarajevo, was interrupted after 3,5 h, and the continuation for scheduled for July 9 at 12 h in federal part of Sarajevo. At the end of the first part of session there was no any statement nor public announcements, so that the reasons of its interruption are not known.

SARAJEVO - Abroad for voting at elections in RS and Federation B&H was registered 155,680 voters from 53 states, out of what 90,434 for RS, and 65, 246 voters for FB&H. The minister counsellor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H Gordan Milinic has informed the journalists in Pale that this time the control of Serbian representatives at voting abroad will be more strict, and all political parties are enabled to send controllers.

BANJA LUKA - The deputy president of the Presidency and president of the city board of the Serbian Democratic Party of Banja Luka Dragan Cavic has stated that for him was forbidden the entrance into the party premises in Banski Dvor, from which building, as well as from the entrance door are already taken away tables with its name. At the extraordinary press conference in Banja Luka he explained that him and other members of the party "this morning in front of the party premises stopped four civilians from the personal security of president of Government of RS Milorad Dodik and in brutal way, without any explanation or order, ordered them to leave the building of Banski dvor".

PRISTINA - In the shooting of Albanian terrorists in Suva Reka was wounded the policeman Milorad Nisavic and Sadri Krueziu was killed - learns SRNA from the municipal authorities in Suva Reka. The terrorists opened fire at 8,30 h from machine guns against Nisavic, who came to by cigarettes in the shop where worked killed Krueziu.

NIS - The Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ thinks that Sulejman Ugljanin announcing so called "peaceful protests" for July 10 in Novi Pazar, is joining the forces which in Kosmet already long time endanger property, lives and complete security of citizens of FRY. The vice-president of National Assembly of Republic of Serbia and president of Regional Board of SRS Dragoljub Stamenkovic thinks that this Ugljanin's move is "counted to assist self-styled Albanian uprising or, better to say, rebellion".

BELGRADE - The office of international Commission for return or compensation of property of refugees from B&H will be opened in Belgrade too, stated the commissioner for refugees of Serbia Bratislava Morina. In the Republican Office for refugees was signed the agreement about opening the Office, which will decide about all claims related to the property of refugees from B&H.

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The UNICEF delegation headed by the UNICEF special representative for the former Yugoslavia countries, Steven Allen, during talks with members of the Republika Srpska (RS) Government in Banjaluka highly assessed implementation of the Children's Right Convention in RS, regarding its economic position. Vice-president of the RS Government Tihomir Gligoric said after the meeting about the Convention implementation that they were mostly talking about social-psychological state of children who survived war tragedies and especially about war orphan.

BANJALUKA - Employees of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) City Board in Banjaluka have been denied entrance into their previous premises in Banski dvor - is said in the announcement of the RS Government. "Because of obvious lack of will of the relevant city institutions these premises will be used, from now on, by President of the RS National Assembly keeping in mind that the Parliament seat is transferred now to Banjaluka.", is said in the announcement.

BANJALUKA - The Democratic Party for Banjaluka and Krajina (DSBK) strongly condemned preventing the SDS City Board representatives to enter their premises in Banski dvor in Banjaluka. "With this act builders of the unitary B&H show fear of the SDS reputation, which is growing in RS, and are seeking incident no matter cost", is said in the DSBK announcement.

BANJALUKA - The international community and donors expect a solid financial system in B&H what would support their efforts in reconstruction of the country with cooperation with both entities - said in Banjaluka a project- coordinator of the EU programme for help in building of banking systems (EC PHARE) Michel Dumant. At the press-conference he said that the new currency, wages system, programme of credits for renewal, privatisation of enterprises and banks as well as the Law on Banking were of significant importance for the RS and FB&H prosperity.

PRISTINA - A policeman Sasa Djordjevic has been injured tonight around 6:00p.m. during attack of ethnic Albanian terrorists on the police checkpoint in the village of Voksi near Decani - Media Centre in Pristina announced. Djordjevic has been transferred to hospital in Pec. Doctors confirmed that his life was out of danger.

NEW YORK - Ibrahim Rugova and his team must be exposed to the international sanctions unless they do not accept a democratic dialogue with Serbian side and condemn terrorism - said in the UN seat Dr. Vojkan Mihajlovic, vice- president of the Serbia Assembly at the press-conference of the Serbian Renewal Movement. Aside from Mihajlovic at the press-conference Gvozden Bosic and Aleksandar Cotric participated.
