NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - Representatives of the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly adopted a Law on the RS Intelligence-security service and the Law on Internal Affairs. Session will be continued in June 24th. Both of laws were adopted through the urgent procedure.

PRISTINA - Albanian terrorists attacked last night a police patrol on the Stimlje -Suva Reka road near the village of Luznica. They had carried out the attack with automatic weapons and hand grenades, SRNA correspondent reported. According to the same source, police answered the fire. There are no injured among policemen but some police vehicles have been damaged.

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

ATHENS - The Republika Srpska (RS) President Biljana Plavsic, who is at the moment in an official visit to Greece, will have talks tomorrow with the Greek Prime Minister Kostas Simitis and Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Teodoros Panfalos. After the meeting a press-conference will be held where President Plavsic along with European representative Alekos Lavanos will express her opinion of this visit, in Greek media already assessed as very successful one.

BANJALUKA - The RS delegation, headed by the RS vice-president Djuradj Banjac, will participate from June 19th to 21st on "the Srpski sabor" in Nuremberg - Republic Protocol announced. The delegation also includes the RS Minister of Refugees and Displaced Persons Miladin Dragicevic and the RS Minister of Finance Novak Kondic and director of the RS Customs Dragoljub Trivanovic and their host in Nuremberg will be the Association of Serb and Yugoslav clubs in Bavaria.

BANJALUKA - The RS Socialist Party spokesman Igor Radojicic said in Banjaluka that "a priority for the RS National Assembly with the new Presidency is acceleration of work on adoption of new laws, determination of legal system of RS and its preserving in accordance with the Dayton Peace Accord". Keeping in mind that the Dayton Peace Accord is a main part for preserving and development of RS , Radojicic said that the SP would do everything to deny its revision to the detriment of RS and Serb people.

BIJELJINA - President of the Municipal Board of the Party of Independent Socialdemocrats from Bijeljina Jovan Gajic said that "forming of a coalition between the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and the Serbin Radical Party (SRS) - is a result of an organization and personnel crisis within SDS". Gajic said at the press-conference in Bijeljina that "a group around Aleksa Buha on one side and Momcilo Krajisnik on the other side, predicts soon division in SDS".

BANJALUKA - President of the RS Alternative Government Dubravko Prstojevic called on all Serbs, with the right to vote, to vote on the elections in September because that is "a key part of the RS survival". He urged on all citizens in RS to pick up their voters cards because "that is in the interest of RS and its future generations".

BANJALUKA - The International Community High Representative spokesman Duncan Boulivant urged on President of the Srbinje Municipal Assembly to stop with protest gatherings in Srbinje regarding arrest of Milorad Krnojelac, who has been accused of alleged war crimes. At the press- conference in Banjaluka he warned that the international community would take him as responsible for further events in Srbinje and for eventual incidents. "We think that it is politically bad and completely irresponsible to misuse citizens for these kind of purposes" - said Boulivant.

AMSTERDAM - Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Coast Mr. Amfilohije along with priests of Serb the eparchy in Paris Milorad and Dojcilo, visited 13 detained Serbs in the Hague prison and gave them blessings from His Holiness Serb patriarch Mr. Pavle. Detained Serbs were very moved and grateful because they thought that they had been forgotten by their country and left without any support.

PRISTINA - Albanian terrorists attacked last night, at 8:00p.m. hotel "Bos", property of Nisavic family, in Sirok, near Suva Reka - Municipal authorities of Suva Reka said for SRNA. Aside from great material damage there were no casualties.

BELGRADE - The Parliament People's Party (SNS) said that after talks between Milosevic and Jeljcin in Moscow " hysteria of western media will calm down for a while" but soon new requests for retreat of FRY Army from Kosovo will follow. "The West will use that break for new actions and initiatives aimed against Serbia and to annull agreement between Yugoslav and Russian President", is said in the SNS announcement. "The U.S. State Secretary Madeleine Albright and NATO will focus on a request for retreat of FRY Army from Kosovo what would be "the suicidal act and as such, should not be taken into consideration".

VIENNA - The NATO eventual intervention, of use to Albanians, could help up in creating of the independent state of Kosovo and would brought up new crisis in B&H - said the Vienna daily "Die Presse". The paper thinks that it would be really hard to explain insisting of the international community on the B&H territorial integrity on one side and jeopardising of the FRY integrity on the other side. "Military intervention in Kosovo can be compared with the international military actions in B&H", the paper warns.

NEW YORK - Kosovo is just a wick and Albania is a bomb that will explode - said the New York Times commentator Thomas Freedman from Tirana. "If clashes in Kosovo are not to be stopped, nationalists will destabilise the Government and the explosion will follow". Freedman said , citing the U.S. expert Herbert Oukun, " If explosion occurs in Albania, in Bosnia will be an implosion", what would mean destruction of B&H.

VIENNA - In the OSCE centre in Vienna the first Summary Conference is holding at which previous implementation of the Agreement on the sub- regional control of arms in the regions of former Yugoslavia will be assessed, based on the Article 4 of the Dayton Peace Accord. "The Conference should discuss some problems about implementation of the Agreement in the future period" - said for SRNA chief of the FRY delegation, an Ambassador Dragomir Djokic.

BRCKO - An agreement on renewal of 300 houses for Croat returnees has been signed in Brcko. Project of renewal of houses for Croats in Brcko is a part of the European Commission project for return in 1998. Building of a school and clinic is also planned.

BANJALUKA - Fifth generation of the RS Internal Affairs Ministry High School has been promoted in Banjaluka and promotion in the police junior sergeants took place. The occasion was attended by the RS vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic, the RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik, Minister of Faith Jovo Turanjanin, deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Brane Pecenac, the RS Army representatives,etc.

SARAJEVO - German Ambassador to B&H Graph fon Basevic and deputy of German Government for return of refugees Ditmar Schle gave in Srpsko Sarajevo to the RS Internal Affairs Minister Milovan Stankovic 22 felitzias (cars) as a German donation to the RS MUP. Eight cars will be given to the police station Banjaluka and each will be given two in Trebinje, Srbinje, Srpsko Sarajevo, Zvornik, Mrkonjic Grad, Prijedor and Doboj.

NOVI SAD - Coordinator in the Vojvodina coalition Miodrag Isakov said in Novi Sad that election of Petar Djokic as President and Safet Bico vice- president of the RS National Assembly was "functional" if supported reforms of the RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik. Isakov pointed out making of coalitions which, according to him, give support to reforms and positive changes in RS.

BANJALUKA - Attorney general of the Hague War Crimes Tribunal Louis Arbour, in an interview with the Serb-Radio television (SRT), welcomed recent visit of the RS Government delegation to the Tribunal. It is a sign of a progress and understanding. "I hope that this visit will contribute that the RS authorities accept that professionalism is very important and we will try to encourage voluntary surrender of accused ones in RS", said Arbour. The interview will be broadcasted at 8:00p.m..

VIENNA - Representatives of the Austrian Parliament approved extension of a mandate for Austrian soldiers within the UN Peace Mission in RS and FB&H. The Austrian Parliament decided for 300 members of the Transport Unit (AUSLOG) to stay engaged until elections in September. That number will be reduced to 220 soldiers who will stay in Bosnia until June 30th 1999.

PRISTINA - Large group of Albanian terrorists started with the attack around 3:00p.m. , on June 16th, on the village of Bica in the Klina Municipality - SRNA has learned in Klina. The attack has been carried out with the automatic weapons, mortars and hand grenades, claims the same source.

PRISTINA - Because of frequent attacks of the Albanian terrorists on Vucitrn, most of the Serbian families left their homes and went to their relatives. Andrija and Danica Jokanovic from Hercegovo, Savo and Novka Zivkovic from Bukos and family of Dragoljub Zivkovic from Glavotina have left their homes and found haven with relatives in Obilic.

PRISTINA - More than 150 Turks from the village of Mamus near Prizren have moved out in the last few days to the Turkish city Ursu, running away from Albanian terrorists who had harassed them, threatened them with arms and robbed them - confirmed to the SRNA correspondent representatives of the Municipal Authorities in Prizren. President of the Democratic Union of Turks in Prizren Djemajl Krueziju said that moving of Turks was continuing until security situation in Kosmet is to be stabilized.

BANJALUKA - The Republika Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik had talks in Banjaluka with the UN Special envoy for B&H Elizabeth Rehn on the RS police reconstruction and details of the RS National Assembly last session, Serb Radio-television reports. Rehn said that a regulation on establishing of the multiethnic police "directly originate from the Dayton Peace Accord".

BANJALUKA - The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said in Banjaluka that the International Fair of furniture, Equipment, Machines and Tools and Interior decoration San'98, confirmed that in a short period of time we can achieve production of furniture according to the world standards. Dodik said that he was pleased to see so many exhibitors, 54 of them from RS, FRY, Slovenia, BJRM, Italy and FB&H.

SARAJEVO - The RS Internal Affairs Minister Milovan Stankovic visited in Lukavica 40 students enrolled in a computer course, expressing hope that this training will help in reviving of the informative system and automatic data processing in the Ministry. "This course will be organised in other centres as well, said Stankovic.

NOVI SAD - In Sarajevo settlement Vogosca from June 19th to 21st will be held the international conference on subjects "The EU extension with implications on the south east Europe" and "A peaceful life without borders" - stated for SRNA spokesman of the League of Socialdemocrats of Vojvodina Aleksandar Ivkovac. The conference is organised by German foundation "Fridrih Erbert", Academy "Georg fon Fulmer" from Munich and Association of Democratic and Socialdemocratic representatives in the national and regional Parliaments from the Alps to the Adriatic coast.

BANJALUKA - The RS Government made a decision to register 4,469 students on the first year in the school year of 1998/99 of which 2,630 in the Banjaluka University and in Srpsko Sarajevo 1,839 students. The main condition is finished High School and candidates must take the written examination and examination of an adequate programme contest.

PRISTINA - In synchronised attacks of Albanian separatists on the MUP of Serbia and FRY Army on the Stimlje-Prizren road a policeman Mladjan Miric from Stimlje and a soldier have been killed. Miric was heavily injured during attack of a large group of Albanian terrorists who were shooting from the automatic weapons, snipers and mortars. Miric died on the way to hospital.

PRISTINA - Police patrol found at 6:00p.m. near the village of Vojtes on the Kosovska Mitrovica-Srbica road a body of Zivojin Milic,30, from the village of Sibovac near Obilic. He was shot in the head.

PRISTINA,ISTOK - On the orthodox graveyard in the village of Veric a policeman Rajko Gajic,37, was buried. He was killed by Albanian terrorists between Monday and Tuesday. Bosko Djuric, member of the Presidency of the Veterans Association 1990, said that Gajic was a victim more, who was killed in the back and then massacred.

PRISTINA - During clashes between border guards and Albanian terrorists on June 16th and 17th near border barracks Djeralica and Kosara ten of the Albanian terrorists have been killed - Media Centre from Pristina announced. Around 3:00a.m. Yugoslav border guards have killed near border barracks Djeralica five Albanian terrorists when a large group tried to cross from Albania to the FRY territory. The FRY Army members confiscated great amount of arms.
