NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BRUSSELS - The High International Representative Carlos Westendorp supported in the EU headquarters in Brussels as soon as possible financial help to the new Government of Republika Srpska (RS), citing that "the Prime Minister Milorad Dodik does not need projects for reconstruction, but money so people could eat" - reports a correspondent of SRNA. He said that EU, USA, Japan, the World's Bank and other donors were ready to immediately send help if the new RS Government guaranteed that it would support democratic development and "legally use of the funds", reminding that several millions of ecus has already been intended for RS, but they were frozen because , as he claims, former relevant authorities "refused to cooperate".

HAMBURG - The commentator of a liberal paper "Neus Deutchland" Rene Heilig denies possibility that "under the new RS Government's leadership there could be any essential changes". "The Prime Minister is maybe now a real man of the hour, however, if his power would last long depends exclusively on his NATO protectors - remarks the paper. "Dodik is one of rare Serbs for whom cooperation with the Muslim is not a taboo"- claims "Frankfurter Rundshau".

AMSTERDAM - RS has a government made of representatives of opposition parties, while the two majority parties are pushed into the background, which is not the case with B&H Federation (FB&H) and cantons - writes a Dutch paper "Folkskrant" and emphasises that Dodik is the first Prime Minister in B&H who has nothing to do with the leading party. In the commentary is said that "on Muslim and Croats influence of the national parties is still decisive, while the Serbs, partially thanks to votes of the Muslim, have a new premier from the opposition".
