NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - Reacting to continuation of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RS) the president of Serbian Democratic Party's (SDS) Club of Representatives Aleksa Buha warned that "the representatives of SDS will not accept any decisions which could be made aside from the will of the voters". "Returning to home, somewhere around midnight, the SDS representatives found out that one part of representatives of RS National Assembly have held a session, although the president of the Assembly Dragan Kalinic had interrupted the session before the midnight and announced continuation of the parliamentary's work before seven days' term" - is said in an announcement forwarded from the Cabinet of Buha and added that: "By this not only the Operating Procedures of the Assembly's work have been violated but also attempt of representatives of SDS and Serbian Radical Party of RS to make a new step in the overcoming of the crisis, to find a mandatory of the Government and the Government itself by accepting elections results and patient coming to an agreement have been disavowed".

BANJALUKA - The vice-president of RS National Assembly and president of RS Serbian Radical Party Nikola Poplasen is of the opinion that "election of Milorad Dodik for a new president of the Government practically means division of RS into two parts". Poplasen assessed for SRNA that "it was caused by RS president Biljana Plavsic and FRY Yugoslavia president Slobodan Milosevic, with help of representatives of the international community". He added that "the phantom election of Milorad Dodik for the Government's president is conveyed in the style of Freemason four "K", and that person of Mr. Dodik can described as "confused, conflicted, criminal and quisling one".

BELGRADE - Democratic Party (DS) thinks it is better of Government was elected by a part of the parliament that to be formed by a foreigner - Carlos Westendorp, who would have done that if it was not elected this night. In a statement for public, issued from party headquarters in Belgrade DS welcomes the election of the Government with Milorad Dodik at the head.

BANJALUKA - The new-elected president of RS Government expressed his condolences to families of tragically killed miners in the mine "Soko" in Citluk near Sokobanja and to the president of the Government of Serbia Mirko Marjanovic. A decision has been made to give financial help in amount of 500 dinars to families of killed miners - is said in a statement from a Cabinet of Dodik.

BELGRADE - Muslim authorities of Tesanj municipality do not agree with arbitration decision of the Deputy High International Representative Hans Schumacher by which borders of a new Croatian municipality Usora have been fixed - Muslim media report. Muslim and Croatian side could not reconcile stances on boundary line between Usora and Tesanj, and so it was agreed that dispute should have been solved by arbitration.

SARAJEVO - SFOR denied claims of local media in the federal part of Sarajevo at the American helicopter " fire from Serbian territory was opened" when it crashed near Srebrenica on Friday. In SFOR report are results of analysis of the television recording which is clearly showing that the incident was not caused by any attack. " The recording obviously indicating that the helicopter grazed the long-distance power line and a flash of light caused by joining of long-distance power line with electric power is evident.

SARAJEVO - Republika Srpska (RS) will give a full contribution to work of International Committee on Missing Persons in the region of former Yugoslavia - stated in Sarajevo the president in B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik after talks with the president of this Committee American Senator Bob Dole. Talks in the National Museum in the federal part of Sarajevo were also attended by the president of RS National Assembly and a member of this International Committee Dragan Kalinic.

SARAJEVO - The president in B&H Presidency from RS Momcilo Krajisnik stated that the last night's session of RS National Assembly " reminded of year of 1991 and sessions of the Parliament of former B&H, when there was outvoting and, finally, chaos". " I would like this to be only a bad association and that solution would be found on the next session of RS Parliament. What will be decided in future will be determined by following activities, probably, of the main boards of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and Serbian Radical Party (SRS), and other relevant persons and institutions of these parties" - emphasised Krajisnik.

BANJALUKA - RS president Biljana Plavsic sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Serbia Milan Milutinovic on the occasion of the accident in the mine "Soko" near Sokobanja, in which 29 miners have lost their lives. "I am asking You to give my condolences to families of killed miners on behalf of people of RS, as well as on behalf of myself" - it is said in the telegram.

PODGORICA - On the occasion of the terrible accident in the mine "Soko" in Citluk near Sokobanja, the president of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic sent a telegram of condolences to the president of Serbia Milan Milutinovic.

SARAJEVO - The special American envoy for former Yugoslavia Robert Gelbart completed two days ago his 19th visit to the region, during which he had talks with political leaders of Yugoslavia, Montenegro, RS, members of B&H Presidency and Albanian representatives, and he also attended the end of mandate of UNTAES in Vukovar. Intensifying of Dayton Peace Agreement realisation has been cited as an aim of Geldbart's arrival in former Yugoslavia. Review of Snezana Samardzija, SRNA journalist.

PARIS - Several thousands of people protested in Paris opposing introducing of new currency "euro" and asking for referendum. The demonstrations were organised on the call of communists which are participating in the Government and are protesting against introduction of euro, reports DPA. "'Euro' is, apparently, too important matter for Franchwomen and Frenchmen to be asked about it" - cynically underlined the chief of Communist Party of France Robert Hue.

LONDON - The British premier Tony Blair will continue talks in London about Northertn Ireland with the leadership of Shin Fein (political wing of IRA) - Jerry Adams and Martin Mac Ginis, and new offers for solution of religious clashes in Northern Ireland are in circulation.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi vice-president Taha Yassin Ramadan stated that "a million of Iraqi will take part in the military training in the next months as a part of Jihad (holy fight) in the attempt to take off sanctions. There is no alternative for this any longer, because it has been already seven years of cooperation with UN and its committees and our patience is running short" - emphasised Ramadan.

PERT - The national team of Spain won a title of the world's champion in water-polo in Australian Pert, winning in the finals of team of Hungary with the score 6:4 / 3:1, 0:0, 0:1, 3:2/. The water-polo players of Yugoslavia won the bronze medal, after the victory over the team of Australia with the score 9:5 /5:1, 1:1, 0:2, 3:1/.
