NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The mandator for making composition of new Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ Mladen Ivanic confirmed last night in Banja Luka that he revised his primary concept, according to which the future government would be composed of four experts and 18 ministers from parliamentary parties. He said that he called the representatives of parliamentary parties and informed them that, if they do not give their confirmation on accepting the concept, he is ready to return the entrusted mandate to president of RS Biljana Plavsic. "SDS and SRS did not accept this concept, while three other parties have done it" - concluded Ivanic and confirmed that he talked with Mrs. Plavsic, who, as he said, "asked him to do the additional endeavour in order to reach consensus". While being guest in the Banja Luka studio of Serbian radio-TV, Ivanic precisely said that according to the new proposal Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ and Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ would get ten ministerial competence, while seven posts in new government would be given to Serbian People's Union /SNS/, Socialistic Party of RS and Party of independent Social-Democrats /SNSD/.

SRBINJE - The president of municipal board of SRS of Srbinje and delegate in the National Assembly of RS Zoran Nikolic thinks that the only way out of the crisis is in forming "the salvation government". Nikolic thinks that in that government, which mandator should have been from SDS or SRS parties, in accordance to the electoral results must be representatives of all parliamentary parties from RS.

AMSTERDAM - The High Representative of international community Carlos Westendorp is also pessimist regarding to the results of his mission in B&H - claims the Dutch news "NRC Handelsbad" at the basis of Westendorp's analysis of the political situation in the field. The journalist of this news Rolph Hartsauker reminds that the mission in B&H implies three important objectives of international community: implementation of results of municipal elections, return of refugees and star-up of economy from the deadlock.

TREBINJE - Because of the current political situation in Republic of Montenegro neither today were established the regular bus lines towards Podgorica, Herceg Novi, Niksic, Belgrade and other places which pass through the territory of this Republic, learns SRNA in the company "Trebinje-prevoz" /transport/ in Trebinje. According to them, busses which started this morning towards Podgorica and Herceg Novi could not cross the border of Montenegro so the passengers returned back to Trebinje.

VUKOVAR - The peace process in Croatia is not finished by the reintegration of territory, but implies also the return of all Croatian citizens to their homes - is said in the message of U.S. president Bill Clinton to the citizens of Croatia which in Borovo Naselje yesterday read the special envoy of U.S. president Robert Gelbard. Clinton is emphasising that the peace will not be complete if all expelled persons are not returned to their homes and warns that Croatia must guarantee equal treatment and full protection of rights for all of its citizens.
