NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The First Constitutive Session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RS) will be held in Bijeljina on December 27. beginning at 11,00 am, and the most important items on an agenda are verification of the mandates of the delegates, and election of the president, vice- president and secretary general of the Assembly. As SRNA has found out in the Cabinet of the president of the National Assembly of former convocation, this agenda was proposed: election of the Verification Commission; discussing the reports of the Verification Commission and verification of the mandates of the representatives; election of the Commission for election and appointing; the election of the president and the vice- president of the Assembly and appointing of the secretary general; taking solemn oaths of the president and the vice-president, representatives and secretary general; election of the president and the members of the assembly's working bodies; proposal of the conclusion on convoking the Second, regular session of the National Assembly.

BANJALUKA - Educators in RS will go on strike tomorrow, which will last until the RS Government pays debts to educators - stated for SRNA the president of the syndicate of education, science and culture of RS Ranka Misic. According to her, the process of education will not begin even in the spring semester as it has been planed, if the RS Government does not fulfil its obligations toward the educators.

DOBOJ - During four years of work the Republican Public Revenue Administration has collected payment of 106 millions DEM, that is 86 % of planed funds, which are marvellous results considering war circumstances and internal-politics ferment - was concluded at the meeting of board of directors of this institution in Doboj.

BRCKO - In the last three months the new multi-party Steering Board of the Municipal Assembly of Brcko managed with its own funds and with help of the RS Government to stop further decrease of production, partly overhaul infrastructure and mitigate difficult social circumstances at the area of the municipality - stated the president of the Steering Board and the mayor of Brcko Borko Reljic. Speaking at the traditional new-year's reception, which respectable political, economic, cultural and public workers of this town in Posavina have attended, Reljic emphasised that everything was done without the expected international assistance, most often conditioned by unacceptable political concessions.

TESLIC - By the decision of the majority of the board members, in the continuation of the first regular session of the Teslic Municipal Assembly, candidate of Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Predrag Markocevic was elected for the new president of the Steering Board of Municipal Assembly.

PRIJEDOR - The board members of the Prijedor Municipal Assembly elected Branko Latinovic from Serbian Party of Krajina and Posavina for the vice- president of the Steering Board, while Janko Stjepic from Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) was elected for the secretary of the Secretariat of Economy and Finance.

DOBOJ - In Doboj was held seminar of the health workers from the region of Doboj which lasted for one day and was about the application of the Tenth International Classification of the Deceases /ICD-10/ - methodology which enables RS health including into unique international medicine system, pursuant to the requirements of the World Health Organisation.

DOBOJ - The spokesman of IPTF in Tuzla Andre Agneli announced at the press conference in Doboj that "Croats from Zepce, using fire arms, are disabling the return of Moslems in the places of former living".

SARAJEVO - The Sarajevo news "Oslobodjenje" issued in "Sarajevo Chronicle" the article under the title "The underage boy killed a man with knife". The killing happened "on Tuesday evening, 18,20 in font of the cafe 'Zan club' in Vogosca, owner Nedzad Dedic Kedzo. Killed man was Kasim Belkic, born in 1954, from Ugljesici near Vogosca. He was killed by the kitchen knife by 17 years old D.D., son of the owner of cafe". Comment of the SRNA editor Zeljko Grujic.

VISEGRAD - The Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ and Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ agreed on joint appearances and mutually obliged themselves that no one can realise the agreement with third party without consent of another partner, which means the monolith appearance during forming Parliament and Government of Republika Srpska /RS/ - stated in Visegrad the Chairman of SDS Aleksa Buha. Reviewing the unsuccessful negotiations with Socialistic Party of RS he expressed his wondering "because of its unexplainable hesitating and tactics".

PODGORICA - The senator of RS Momir Vojvodic expects from the newly elected delegates that "party affiliate subordinate to national" and elect the government able to "take care about the destiny of Serbian people and survival of Republic". In the statement for SRNA he expressed the hope that the mandatary, whom propose Biljana Plavsic, president of RS, "will think and act as Serbian patriot and not as international vassal subordinate to Bonn and Washington", and that for ministers will propose "honorable, capable and skilled people".

MOSTAR - A missile fired from wasp, from western, Croatian part of Mostar, last night, in the firstj hour of Catholic Christmas, caused great material damage at the apartment house in the settlement Zalik, in the eastern, Muslim part of the town.

BELGRADE - The representatives of the Association of the parents of missing and captured persons from FR Yugoslavia expressed in Belgrade discontent with previous official meetings of interested sides, because they are convinced that Croatia and B&H Federation are dragging out revealing of the truth about the missing persons deliberately.

TUZLA - The head of the Pentagon William Cohen has gone to USA, after he attended the Christmas celebration with American soldiers of SFOR in Tuzla- agencies are reporting.
