NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic will receive the UN Special Envoy for Human Rights Elizabeth Rehn. The expectations are that the main topics of the talks will be about refugees, missing persons and respecting of human and minority rights.

VIENNA - The computers were "blushed" when they discovered more of 3,000 voters which at the elections for the RS parliament vote for the second time, trying, on that way, to overflow RS with Muslim votes - said for SRNA the RS Government representative in the OSCE centre in Vienna Gordan Milinic. "Up to 10,000 ballots, biggest part from Germany, arrived in OSCE centre without any documentation and they are immediately excluded from the process and presumptions are that these ballots were produced in the Muslim clubs in Germany, which is one more of the reasons why we insist on the original OSCE centre certificate" - concluded Milinic. Aftre the RS Government representatives in the OSCE centre discovered numerous errors and irregularities, and endangered the regularity of elections in abroad, the OSCE decided to strengthen his election team in Vienna with the new experts. From Geneva was urgently sent the election expert Mrs. Regina Buko which worked at many elections in the Europe and in the world and, which is currently at the function of the Head of the Information Department of the International Organisation for Immigrations.

SARAJEVO - The elections for RS National Assembly are closed, and the final result will be known when the collecting and counting of votes from the abroad comes to its end. The parties which gained seats in the RS parliament, according to their leaders are satisfied with the results. Anyway, everybody are waiting the results from Vienna. The text "The Pleasure of the parties, but the votes are still counting", prepared by SRNA journalist Snezana Samardzija.

BERLIN - The failure of RS President Biljana Plavsic "in the attempt to remove the authorities in RS would be a great shame for USA and for Germany which not only supported her, but also invested a large amount of money" claims the Radio-Info based in Berlin. "The main task of Washington during the elections was providing of the support to Mrs. Plavsic and to her party in the struggle against the ruling, Serbian Democratic Party" it was reported in the news which said that the RS President is "more cooperative" from others.

ATHENS - If the goal of the elections in RS was to determine the balance of power, what would serve as a useful information for implementation of Dayton Agreement, then the full success was reached, but, if the goal was to overcome the serious political crisis among the RS political leaders, then the crisis was intensified. This is conclusion of the Greek daily newspaper "Elofterotipia" which emphasises that according to incomplete results of early parliamentary elections in RS, SDS is still a party with the strongest political influence in the Republic.

SARAJEVO - The Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation (FB&H) has still not responded to the Association for endangered peoples - Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) - where goes the money which the FB&H Government illegally collects in the name of war tax from the returnees from abroad - reports the correspondent of the Belgrade Radio "B-92" in Sarajevo. The UN Special Envoy for Human Rights Elizabeth Rehn warned at this fact and asked for its resolving as soon as possible, because it hinders the realisation of the programme for returning of refugees from abroad to FB&H.

SARAJEVO - The Muslim from Livno and Tomislavgrad complained to the UN Special Envoy for Human Rights Elizabeth Rehn that they are "deprived of their rights" because in the passed five years up to one half of them was forced to left these areas.

SARAJEVO - In the hotel "Bistrica" at the Jahorina mountain with the reports of nine lecturers on the topic "Socialpsychological factors of the sportsmen health" the first International Congress "Sport and Health" was closed. The Congress was closed by the President of the Organisation Committee and RS Minister of Sport Rajko Papovic, which thanked to numerous lecturers form RS, Federal Republic Yugoslavia, Rumania, Hungary and Italy which participated at this scientific gathering the first of this kind in the Republic.
