NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - According to the incomplete data PEC has got until 16,30 h at the parliamentary elections in RS total of 51,15% citizens - stated for SRNA the member of PEC Rajko Bojat, stressing that this percentage will be much higher when data from all polling station arrive. Bojat reminded that exactly at 16,00 h were closed all polling stations, as planned, provided that all who are on the polling station in that moment will be enabled to cast their ballots after this deadline. The international organisations in Banja Luka assessed that the parliamentary elections in RS are going on in peace and without incidents.

SARAJEVO - OSCE rejected the requirement of REC to extend the time for voting for early parliamentary elections in RS until 19,00 h, and all polling stations will be closed until 16,00 h - is confirmed for SRNA in REC. According to member of REC Rajko Bojat, OSCE will enable voters who were on the spot at the moment of closing the station to fulfil their civil duty, which means that some polling stations will be opened and after 16,00 h, but only those where are a greater number of citizens who did not finished voting before that time limit.

BANJA LUKA - According incomplete data in city Banja Luka voted 69,261 out of total 114,650 voters or 62,4% - was announced in LEC, along with note that the figure is not full because the reports from all polling stations did not come yet. Internal counting of votes started immediately at 16,00 h at all polling stations and will last most probably until tomorrow.

BRCKO - According to the incomplete data, at early parliamentary elections in RS in the region of the municipality Brcko cast their ballots 18,891 citizens, or 67% of electorate, which has 28,500 eligible persons. As announced for SRNA, out of this number in the polling station in the zone of separation in the settlement Brod voted 3,000 citizens from Federation B&H /FB&H/.

BIJELJINA - At 50 polling stations in the region of municipality Bijeljina voted 45,000 voters or 70% out of 65,253 voters. The preliminary results of voting are expected around 21,00 h.

PRIJEDOR - According to the incomplete data, in the region of municipality Prijedor until closing of 42 polling stations voted 43,136 citizens, i.e. 78% of electorate which has 55,302 eligible citizens. On several poling stations was noted that particular voters who were on lists for September's elections omitted from voting lists. They, on the basis of LEC certificate, along with proviso that they were registered in the book of voters, were enabled to vote.

DOBOJ - According to the incomplete data in the region of DOboj municipality until 16,00 h, when 30 out of 43 polling stations were closed, voted 31,205 citizens or 69.04% out of 45,194 registered voters. According to president of LEC Doboj Vlado Blagojevic, around 200 citizens were deprived of voting because of failure in the voting lists of OSCE and PEC.

LJUBINJE - In the region of the eastern Herzegovina municipalities the turnout of voters on the second day of early parliamentary elections was much better, so until early afternoon voted 505 of total electorate.

SARAJEVO - The president in Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik conveyed to the president of Parliamentary Council of OSCE Javier Ruperez the requirement to return on the candidate lists of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ three of its candidates - Vojislav Maksimovic, Milovan Regoda and Borislav Bojic. PEC took of the list these candidates because of the posters of Radovan Karadzic, which appeared in western parts of RS. "We shall not accept taking off from the list three of our candidates, because we told our activists, to remove those posters, but somebody put them back again, by stealth" - accentuated Krajisnik.

BRCKO - The spokesman of IPTF Office in Brcko Ms. Kathy Laden, on the occasion of her statement that the voting could be repeated if the turnout was lesser than 50%, said that she stated that unofficially". "As the representative of IPTF I cannot know what will happen in case of insufficient turnout. That would be an issue for OSCE. What I can officially is that during voting was not recorded no any incident", stated the IPTF spokesman in Brcko.

SARAJEVO - OSCE announced that the voters which names were not in the final electoral list, and who at local elections voted for some of the municipalities in RS, will be enabled to vote on early parliamentary elections, after the additional checks were made.

SARAJEVO - According to the incomplete data which arrived to RSC until 18, 10 h, at parliamentary elections in Republika Srpska /RS/ came out 56% of citizens, i.e. 464,935 out of 830,288 total registered eligible voters, excluding those who will vote abroad and in Federation B&H, stated for SRNA the member of REC Rajko Bojat. According to him, until now are completed data for six out of 61 municipalities in RS. "Counting of votes at polling stations, under supervision of international supervisors from OSCE and representatives of political parties, is going on without impeding, and in this way completed reports will be forwarded to the local electoral commissions, which will determine the number of delegate seats won by political parties and independent candidates in National assembly of RS" - stated Bojat.

TREBINJE - According to the unofficial data in the region of the municipality Trebinje out of 19,752 voters on 16 polling stations voted 14, 542 or 73.6%.

BRCKO - According to the data of the LEC Brcko which were processed until 17,30 h, out of 28,500 citizens registered for voting in this city on elections came 19,650 voters, or some more than 70%, out of which 3,000 in Federation B&H, who voted on polling station in the settlement Brod in the zone of separation.

ZVORNIK - According to unofficial and incomplete data which SRNA provided, in Zvornik's municipality is leading the Serbian democratic Party /SDS/ in front of Serbian Radical Party /SRS/, Socialistic Party /SP/ and Serbian People's Union /SNS/. Until now are known the results of voting in 17 out of 26 polling stations in Zvornik, and according to them SNS won on three polling stations - Tabanci and Celopek - while on all other places SDS is leading party.

BELGRADE - The chief of OSCE Office in Belgrade Zivota de Luka confirmed that in FR Yugoslavia all 79 polling stations for parliamentary elections in RS were closed at 16,00 h, but he could not announce the percentage of turnout.

CAPLJINA - At the polling station number 172 in Capljina for elections in NA RS nobody appeared out of 50 registered voters.

BANJA LUKA - The OSCE mission spokesman Johan Ferheiden thinks that "people in RS made another important step towards democracy, because this organisation assesses that the electoral campaign passed along the extraordinarily small number of violations of rules and procedures of Provisional Electoral Commission /PEC/". Mr. Ferheiden confirmed that all polling stations were closed at 16,00 h and reminded that electoral rules and regulations according to which he voting time will not be extended no matter the interest of the voters.

SARAJEVO - The vice-president of RS Government Aleksa Buha acquainted in Pale Javier Ruperez, the president of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, about objections on electoral rules which , first of all are related with registration of voters and parties, but also the OSCE practice to "change electoral rules immediately and each moment". Buha explained that these rules "are not since yesterday, but old the same as electoral rules - i.e. since last year".

ZVORNIK - The president of Municipal Board /OO/ of SDS of Zvornik Stevo Rajic stated for SRNA that he is "contented with electoral results although they are known only on 18 out of 26 polling stations". "Taking into consideration activities of OO and clearing the Board from within, the results which we reached were expected" - he said.

BRCKO - The elections for new convocation of National Assembly of RS passed in non-democratic atmosphere, but despite that I expect the results which will surprise Western analysts - i.e. good results of SDS - stated for SRNa Mladen Bosic, the president of SDS in Brcko.

BIJELJINA - The spokesman of OO SDS of Bijeljina Dragan Vuckovic expressed the contentment with the first results on citizens turnout for parliamentary elections, assessing that this party "is persuasively strongest and that has no need to enter into coalition with other parties". "SDS can go only into 'technical coalition' - agreement on forming authority, but not the political coalition" - precisely stated Vuckovic.

BIJELJINA - SRS of Bijeljina is discontented with turnout of citizens on early parliamentary elections in RS. The president of OO of this party Dragan Djurdjevic announced that SRS will go into coalition with another parties, but he did not say which.

BIJELJINA - SNS expects that parliamentary elections will bring changes, first of all in political structure - stated the president of OO of SNS Bijeljina Djordje Krsmanovic, assessing that in any case he "expects new quality". For SRNA he announced the possibility of making coalition with "progressive and true democratic parties excluding SDS".
