NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The President of the National Assembly (NA) of Republika Srpska (RS) Dragan Kalinic convoked the 13th session of the RS parliament, for November 6th. 1997, which will take place at mountain Jahorina. At large agenda are, among others, items about arbitration of the controversial part of the Inter-entity border line in Brcko area and about proposition for resolving of misunderstandings about competence between RS NA and RS Government on one side and the RS President at the other side.

BANJALUKA - The RS President Biljana Plavsic talked in Banjaluka with representatives of War Veterans organisations from Bratunac and Srebrenica about difficult material conditions and about problems of fallen soldiers families, disabled war veterans and missing persons families which are living in this municipalities.

SARAJEVO - The President in Bosnia and Herzegovina presidency from Republika Srpska Momcilo Krajisnik presented the proposition to the French Ambassador in Sarajevo Yves Gaudel for forming a body in Serbian Radio Television (SRT) which will coordinate the presentation of all political parties in upcoming election campaign, with the aim to provide an equal media treatment. "Members of this coordination body should be SRT and RS Ministry of information representatives as well as representatives of the International community, which have to make an unique programme for presentation of political parties which includes interests of the International community too" - explained Krajisnik.

SARAJEVO - The Co-presiding of the B&H Council of Ministers Boro Bosic received a protocol visit from the US President special envoy for economic reconstruction Clod Genz. After the meeting behind close doors the participants were not available for comment.

SARAJEVO - The Supreme Court of RS rejected appeal of the RS President Biljana Plavsic against the Government decision from June 3rd. 1997 by which conducting of the President resolution from June 3rd. 1997 about dissolving NS and scheduling of parliamentary elections for September 1st. 1997 is ceased.

BRCKO - The Head of Brcko police station Mico Simikic stated that members of SFOR disturbed investigation of discovering the perpetrators which mined the bases of the Serbian Orthodox church in Brcko. "By unscrupulous behaving at the crime scene US SFOR members covered the possible traces and violated further investigation what was accepted after our appeal to IPTF and SFOR" - stated Simikic.

BRCKO - The Serbian Democratic Party spokesman Mladen Bosic stated in Brcko that he is confident that SDS will achieve better success at forthcoming parliamentary elections than at local elections. Because in that time until the last moment holding of local elections was uncertain.

BELGRADE - The President of the SDS in Serbia (FRY) Dragoljub Kojcic invited foreign Consuls in FRY to assist in lifting of the media blockade in RS. "In the name of democracy and human rights, which are both violated with blocking of the SRT we ask you to use your authority and influence in yours Governments for this measure abolishing" - stated Kojcic in his letter.

SARAJEVO - The attempt of the "Reporters without Frontiers" General Secretary Robert Mangard to assault SRNA and suggesting to the French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine to prevent the chief of the SRNA's branch office in Paris Miodrag Jankovic to be appointed for B&H Ambassador in France, has all elements of modern hypocrisy which was recently described in famous article of the Nobel Prize winner Aleksandar Solzenjicin - it is featured in SRNA commentary.
