OCT. 12 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BEOGRAD - President of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic and president from RS in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, will hold talks with Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic in Belgrade tomorrow, this is confirmed to SRNA from sources close to the ruling Socialist Party of Serbia, in Belgrade. Tomorrow's talks will concern the implementation of the Belgrade Agreement, organisation of the forth-coming parliamentarian and presidential elections in RS, and the situation in RS media following SFOR's break of the Serb Radio-TV (SRT) programming from studio in Pale.

VISEGRAD - RS vice-premier Velibor Ostojic and Visegrad officials talked with Greek ambassador to Sarajevo Prokopous Manzuranis on the continuing economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. "We discussed the matters we intend to foster, including investments into the reconstruction of Kasindol hospital and Psychiatric hospital in Banjaluka, stated Ostojic. He used the opportunity to thank to the Greek Government for $ 5 million collected for the restoration of the Orthodox Cathedral in Sarajevo.

VISEGRAD - RS foreign minister Aleksa Buha warned in Visegrad of some allegations on holding parliamentarian and presidential elections in RS in various times as a threat of creating favourable grounds for new manipulations with the Serbian people. "I believe that it is senseless to do a job twice over if the elections can be held in one day", Buha stated for SRNA, and added that this was the main objection on the part of the RS Government and National Assembly regarding the allegations.

BIJELJINA - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) for RS believes that the local elections in Brcko were held in an anti-democratic atmosphere and that they did not proceed in accordance with the Dayton Agreement, says the SRS announcement. "The implementation of the electoral results represents a Western variety of 'bolshevik' way of causing additional problems, because the will of the people is not being recognised or elementary principles of a democratic procedure honoured, primarily the right of majority to decide", says the announcement. The SRS believes that Robert Farrand or his principal's model demanded that the Serbian people waiver the right to freedom and building of a democratic society.

BIJELJINA - Deputy RS minister of interior, Momcilo Mandic, expressed his pleasure with the unanimous decision of the Public Security Centre (CJB) in Trebinje on undivided position to pledge a full support to the legal RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP). The RS MUP announced that RS MUP and CJB Trebinje concluded at their meeting that "nobody among commanding officers and policemen in RS MUP, who were offered solutions by separated MUP in Banjaluka, would take part in possible actions of forced staff replacements in Herzegovina."

SARAJEVO - The Serbian people has no alternative but to offer resistance, come together and fight for its national unity, emphasised the RS senator, Dragos Kalajic, at the SRT tribune. As for SFOR's recent takeover of SRT transmitters by which programmes of the SRT Studio Serb Sarajevo were disabled, the president of the RS Constitutional Court, Gaso Mijanovic, stated that it represented a direct violation of the Dayton Agreement and all legal norms. An expert from the Institute for Geo-Political Studies in Belgrade, retired general Radovan Radinovic, assessed the SRT transmitters takeover as a "well-packed and perfect NATO concept to carve-up of Serb territory".

OZREN - RS prime minister Gojko Klickovic, attended the celebration of the municipal day in Petrovo on Ozren, and revealed a memorial plague with photos of 223 fallen RS Army members. Klickovic, together with RS defence minister Milan Ninkovic and finance minister Drago Simic, attended a service held by hieromonks Georgije and Gavrilo in the St. Nikola monastery for all Serb soldiers killed in the patriotic war.

MOSTAR - First results of the investigation conducted into yesterday's explosion in front of the Catholic school centre in Sarajevo showed that it was a device made of formation military mine activated by clock mechanism, announced the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs. "This can be connected with previous explosions, so presumption is that the same terrorist group is behind them", reports the Croatian Radio Herzeg-Bosnia.

SARAJEVO - The vice-president of the Socialist-Democratic Party, Gradimir Gojer, says that responsibility for the terrorist attack at the Catholic school centre in Sarajevo must go to account of the Federal leaders, unless the culprits are not brought to justice, reports Muslim Radio-Sarajevo. Gojer's cabined issued an announcement saying that "if culprits are not identified for numerous terrorist actions, it is equal to complicity in these attacks against security of residents and their right to education and up-brining".
