NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The member of the Provisional Electoral Commission /PEC/ Slobodan Kovac assessed that "the results of the local elections are satisfactory because in them various parties were enabled make progress by nomination of their programmes in the development of democracy in whole, and in the area where they act". While concluding that in RS didn't exist the interest of voters to vote in Federation B&H, Kovac highlighted that "in some municipalities in Krajina - Drvar and Bosanski Petrovac - were nominated the parties and individuals from RS and in couple of municipalities won a great number of mandates". "While in the same time lot of parties from FB&H were registered in RS and nobody prevented people from voting, on the contrary the conditions for all democratic performing were created", stressed Kovac reminding that in Srpska during elections no incident occurred.

SARAJEVO - The Serbian electorate won the majority of the delegate posts at the local elections in municipality Brcko, confirmed for SRNA Slobodan Kovac, the member of PEC from RS. According to him, "out of 56 delegate's posts in the future city parliament Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ won 17, Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ 7 and Socialistic Party of RS /SPRS/ 6 mandates". "The Coalition for whole B&H got 16, Party of democratic changes /SDP/ of B&H 7 and Croatian Democratic Community /HDZ/ 3 delegate posts", said Kovac.

SREBRENICA - Form OSCE office in Zvornik was denied the report that out of 45 delegate's posts in the City assembly of the municipality Srebrenica 25 mandates was given to the delegates from Federation B&H and explained that the results were not known yet. It is precisely stated that the final results for this municipality will be known next week.

SERBIAN SARAJEVO - The Council of Ministers of B&H adopted in Lukavica the Draft of Law about this body, which final motion will be adopted after the discussion in the Parliamentary Assembly. The draft law on passports will be adopted after few small corrections, while the draft law on citizenship was not adopted, because, according to the words of the co-presiding of the Council Boro Bosic, "it is not concluded the issue whether the citizens of B&H can have the Yugoslavian citizenship too". Bosic stressed that still was not decided whether the issue of the citizenship would be included into the Law on the Council of Ministers or to leave it to the Parliamentary Assembly to decide upon that. Another co-presiding Haris Silajdzic warned that the issue of the Port and Customs in Brcko will be given to the Office of the High Representative if it do not appear on the agenda of the next session.

KRAGUJEVAC - The mayor of Kragujevac Veroljub Stevanovic assessed that SFOR's action of taking over the radio-TV transmitters of Serbian radio -TV /SRT/ represent uncivilised act and violation of the rights of citizens to be informed about all events in the areas where they live. "Having in mind that SRT is main informational house in RS, it is logical that citizens would be informed first of all through it", stressed Stevanovic and added that to the people of RS, beside other troubles, was denied the right on impartial informing.

SARAJEVO - The staff of the National assembly expressed the bitterness and sent the sharpest protests because of planting explosive in the car of the Editor in chief of the daily "Srpski Glas" /The voice of Serbs/ Gordan Matrak. "We do not approve any terroristic action against the political opponents. We ask that the political struggle would be lead by the political means and that all who use the force be submitted to the sanctions of law and justice", is stressed in the announcement.

SRBAC - The municipal boards of the Serbian Party of Krajina and Posavina /SSK&P/, Serbian Patriotic Party /SPAS/, and Serbian Peasants Party /SSS/ on Srbac signed the Agreement on establishing the coalition block under the title The Coalition for Democratic Changes. The aim of establishing this coalition, which will have nine delegates in the Assembly of the municipality Srbac, is preventing the eventual being single-minded in the work of Republican Assembly.

GRADISKA - SP RS, SPAS, the Party of Independent Socialdemocrats and Democratic Party for Banja Luka and Krajina reached the agreement about the joint appearance in forming the future local authorities and that in ten days convene the constitutional session of municipal board of Gradiska, at which will be chosen the president and the secretary of the municipality.

ZVORNIK - The electoral HQ of the Municipal Board of the Serbian Democratic Party /OO SDS/ of Zvornik decided to postpone tomorrow's session of the Board because of the necessity of meeting the municipal leadership of SDS with the leadership in Pale. The electoral HQ of OO SDS sent the critics to OSCE because being slow in answer about the final electoral results, what, according to the assessment of the Municipal Board of this party, lead to the conclusion that international community is "framing" the results.
