SARAJEVO - The president of the Republican electoral commission /PEC/ Petko Cancar stated for SRNA that, according to the preliminary data, the turnout on municipal elections is more than 90% of registered voters in Republika Srpska /RS/. He confirmed that the polling stations in RS were closed at 19, 00 h, but the possibility to vote for those who came at the polling station in the time of closing is left. The president of PEC announced that the first preliminary results of the local elections are expected on September 15 in the evening, and that the final results will announce PEC.

SARAJEVO - Until 19,00 h in Brcko voted about 90% of voters, Banja Luka 82%, Bijeljina 90%, Lopare 80%, Ugljevik 88.8%, Modrica 96%, Rogatica 84%, Samac 96%, Srbinje 88%, Srpsko Gorazde 87.2%, Vlasenica 97%, Zvornik 96.6, Visegrad 96%, and Rudo more than 97%, Zvornik 96.6, Visegrad 96%, and Rudo more than 97% of voters.

BRCKO - In Brcko until 19 h, when 18 out of total 20 polling stations were closed, voted 24,650 voters, which is 90% of total electorate. The president of the Local Electoral Commission Teodor Gavric announced that two polling stations in Brcko will be opened until the citizens who were at the polling station finish voting.

NOVI SAD - Out of 7,300 refugees registered in the voting lists in the municipalities Novi Sad, Sremski Karlovci and Beocin, because extraordinarily bad organisation of elections for municipal authorities in RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/ voted only 2,911 voters. On two polling stations in Novi Sad at 19,00 h were still waiting about 300 voters who wanted to fulfil their citizens duty.

BELGRADE - From the Office of Commissioner for refugees in Belgrade is announced that the results of voting of refugees from FR Yugoslavia /FRY/ for elections in RS will be counted during the night and publicly announced on September 5 in the morning. The Chief of the Office Zivota de Luka confirmed that the several polling stations are not closed yet because voters are waiting in the queues.

KRAGUJEVAC - The agent of Officer of Commissioner for refugees in Kragujevac Milan Stojanovic stated that for the local authorities in RS and FB&H in Sumadija region out of registered 2,896 voters cast their ballots 1, 187. According to their words, the elections passed in the best order and without incidents.

SARAJEVO - The ministry of the Internal Affairs /MUP/ of RS thanked to all citizens - participants of elections for municipal organs, for their contribution, cooperation and responsible stance towards elections, which contributed conducting the elections peacefully and in security on the regions of the whole Republics. As stressed in the announcement, signed by the minister Slavko Paleksic, MUP has undertaken a series of measurements and activities, during elections, so the full security of voters and polling stations would be secured.

SARAJEVO - The deputy High Representative for civil affairs Jacques Klein stated that the elections in RS were extraordinarily significant, conducted with a minimum of problems and far better than expected, and that the citizens of this state has shown that they wish the democratic future. "In these elections international community invested much, between other things 14 millions $US. In order to be performed on fair and honest way they were monitored by more than 2,000 of international supervisors. To their success in great deal contributed the members of SFOR and media of the international community" - stressed Klein in the programming of the Serbian Radio-TV.

BANJA LUKA - The spokesman of IPTF Alun Roberts stated at the press conference in BAnja Luka that in the region of Velika Kladusa an Moslem, who didn't find himself in the voting list, from the fire arm wounded the supervisor in the shoulder. "After that the supervisor was carried to the Bihac hospital", added Roberts, stressing that in other placed no significant incidents occurred.

TILBURG - The Dutch daily with the high reputation "Het Parol" concludes that the elections in RS and FB&H "illustrates the bankruptcy of the Dayton Agreement", assessing that these, like past elections will not prevent the division by the national line, but will once again confirm that. "The elections are not being held because the time for democracy has come, but because Americans wish by all means and any price to meet the deadlines anticipated by the Dayton Agreement" - said the journalist Lambik Berends, bringing this into the connection with Clinton's promise to the Senate that the Americans will return to their homes next June.

TILBURG - The Dutch supervisor at the local elections in B&H Ber Heiden warned that Croats are disabling Serbs to vote in Drvar, using the tactics of dragging out. While being guest in the programming of the Dutch state Television, he stressed that OSCE will do everything to enable Serbs to vote in this place, occupied by Croats at the end of July 1995.
