NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The Serbian Democratic Party for Serbian Lands (SDS SZ) Main Board excluded the RS president Biljana Plavsic from the Party, at last ngiht's session. The SDS SZ Direction announced that "upon the initiative of the SDS SZ Presidency, the SDS SZ Main Board considered Ms Plavsic's relations towards the Party's policy and programme. Out of 84 members, them 55 attending the session unanimously voted for the suspension of Ms. Plavsic's membership", reads the announcement. The Main Board reaffirmed the unity of the SDS SZ, and said all eventual attempts at dividing the party would experience a failure.

BANJALUKA - The RS president Biljana Plavsic, talked in Banjaluka with the OSCE Mission chief and the president of the Provisional Electoral Commission, Robert Frowick. There were no statements after the meeting or a press release made available from the RS Presidential Cabinet.

SARAJEVO - The RS National Assembly Board of Staff assessed that the burning of only one state daily paper "Glas Srpski", in front of Banski Dvori in Banjaluka, "is not an act by independent citizens group, but an awkward political act by people close to the Presidential Cabinet". "These actions, together with the publicising of the unchecked facts at the so- called meetings of support to decision disbanding the RS National Assembly, deplorably degrade the reputation of the institution of RS president".

BRCKO - The Socialist Party f RS, is resolved to deal with the present political crisis within the RS institutions and with a maximal observance of RS constitution, stated the Party's president Zivko Radisic in Brcko. Following of the Party's Main Board session last night, he said that he solution must take consideration of several vital matters, the preservation of RS being the most important one.

BANAJLUKA - Two strong explosions were heard in the Banjaluka's community of Obilicevo, last night at about 2:00hrs. Police patrols are on the field to determine the exact place and consequences of the explosions, said the Banjaluka's security centre, and added that there were no reports on injuries or potential damage.

ATHENS - A Greek lawyer, Akelsandors Likuredos, believes that Radovan Karadzic would not turn up at the Hague Tribunal, because the Tribunal is not acting objectively and impartially and has no any legal base for its work. In an interview for the Greek paper "Elephteroptipia" he assessed that the international community's goal was not to arrest Radovan Karadzic, but to avert his influence on the RS political life. He said "nobody is ready to take a risk of an action such as the detention of Radovan Karadzic is".

SARAJEVO - The Croatian president Franjo Tudjman, stated in Brioni that he would use his authority to have all Croat war crimes suspect, living in the HVO-controlled territory detained, reports Muslim radio Sarajevo. Other than this, Tudjman promised to work towards the fostering the B-H Federation, following his Brioni meeting with the US ambassador in UN, Bill Richardson, reports the Radio.
