NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic sent a letter to the president of Serbia Slobodan Milosevic in which she informs him that she is not able to accept the invitation for meeting with the president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik in Belgrade. "After my detention and deporting from the airport in Belgrade on June 29 this year, I cannot accept to come on meeting in Belgrade" - precisely stated Mrs. Plavsic.

PRIJEDOR - The president of RS Biljana Plavsic stated in Prijedor that National Assembly of RS /NS/ is not legal, that it does not have to exist, and that its delegates because of its statements on the last session have to respond before the people who have chosen them. At the meeting of support to the president of RS, organised by the Coordinative Board of the opposition parties, to which she joined, she stressed that the state leadership must comply with what they promised in last year's preelectoral campaign.

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik received in Pale the French ambassador Yves Gaudel. The details from that meeting, as well as from the meeting of the president Krajisnik and US charge d'affaires to B&H Michael Parmly will be announced later on.

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik accepted the invitation of the president of Serbia Slobodan Milosevic to talk in Belgrade with president of RS Biljana Plavsic about overcoming the current political crisis in RS. Krajisnik confirmed his coming to Belgrade, "so, in the interest of all people and the future of RS, he could together consider the steps for overcoming the crisis and undisturbed implementation of the Dayton Agreement".

SARAJEVO - The decision of the president of RS to resolve the National Assembly is fully in accordance with the Constitution, made on the basis of the Dayton Agreement, and any act of the Assembly will not be considered as valid - asserts the spokesman of OSCE David Foley. At the press conference in Pale he added that OSCE will wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court, but he added that it must be in accordance with the Dayton Agreement".

VUKOVAR - The international soldiers in the Eastern Slavonia, which secures the border crossings with FR Yugoslavia /FRY/ in Hungary, will start withdrawal on Thursday, July 10, and will be replaced by the Croatian custom officers - it is announced from the HQ of UNTAES in Vukovar. In the announcement is stressed that "these measures are part of the peacefull reintegration of the region into Croatia, and that the changes will not influence the freedom of movement from and into the region of UNTAES". "The Croatian custom officers will do their duties in the Croatian uniforms, but without signs on the international border crossings until September 14.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Socialistic Party of RS /SP RS/ Zivko Radisic called upon all the institutions in RS not to "block the life of the citizens, stressing that Serbien people require from them the minimum, and that is peace and state - RS". At the press conference in Banja Luka he said that "SP, by no any gesture or announcement took any side". According to him, "SP is for protection of the institution of RS, in the borders of its Constitutional role and responsibility".

BELGRADE - The president of Serbia Slobodan Milosevic in the letter sent to president Biljana Plavsic explains that the essence of his efforts "is that he deems that the solution of the crisis must be found on the side of the interest and RS, and not on the side of Pale or Banja Luka". "The exit from the crisis is in achieving the unity, and not in conflicts and divisions between Pale and Banja Luka", it is stressed in the letter.

BELGRADE - His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Pavle would receive the Sarajevo's bishop cardinal Vinko Puljic. As stated the bishop France Perko, cardinal Puljic arrived to Belgrade last night for the two days visit.

PODGORICA - The president of Montenegro Momir Bulatovic oferred the assistance to the leadership of RS, in the framework of his capacity and competence, in order to overcome the conflict between the leaders in RS and solve the Constitutional crisis. At the press conference in Vila Gorica in Podgorica Bulatovic said: "The stance that I can present in this moment is that the implementation of the peace agreement is the essential interest of the Serbian people and citizens of RS".

BRCKO - The political parties in Brcko call upon the citizens to register 100% until July 12 for the next municipal elections. The leader of the Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Mladen Bosic, the radical Jovo Jeftic and socialist Petar Djokic expressed the unique stance that the registration is not only the basic national interest, but also the way to preserve and prove the dignity and honour of the Serbian people in these regions.
