NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic and vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic, with assistants, talked in Banja Luka with the more members delegation of international community, lead by the High Representative Carl Bildt, who told reporters that the talks were "concentrated on the issue of freedom of movement". After five hours of talks, Bildt stressed that the international community wishes to implement fully the freedom of movement as "the essential principle of Peace agreement".

SARAJEVO - The RS Government accepted the Information on activities of Republican Electoral Commission on the preparation of municipal elections scheduled for September 13 and 14. The Government suggested that the plan of financing the electoral commissions and voting boards for impending elections should be made. On the occasion of the request delivered to the RS Government for the emergency start of realisation of the Project of development of Serbian Sanski Most on the location Ostra Luka, it is concluded that Governmental Group will be formed for contacts with the Swedish firms interested for its construction. The government accepted the Draft Law on strike, Draft of the proposed law on changes and amendments of the Law on administrative taxes, which in the form of bill will be communicated for discussion to the National Assembly of RS.

SARAJEVO - The members of RS Government were acquainted at the session in Pale with the Information about the treating the RS Police by IPTF, which enters into the constitutional and legal matter of RS. From the very beginning IPTF was coming out of its mandate determined by Dayton Agreement and, using the position of force that they have on the disposal, gradually started to impose solutions which enter into the constitution and legislation of RS, nor are acceptable by the point of view of police profession - is stated in the Information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MUP/. In the last period IPTF increased the pressure against the MUP of RS and under the cover of requests for reorganisation and rationalisation is trying to impose the solutions which could lead to decreasing the number of police, reach the decentralisation and practically destroy unity, hierarchy and subordination in MUP of RS - is warned in Information.

SARAJEVO - The Provisional Electoral Commission /PEC/ decided on May 20 to extend the previous deadline for submitting the lists of candidates of political parties until May 27. This doesn't relate on the political parties and independent candidates, as it was published before, but only on the lists of candidates of parties.

DOBOJ - The president of the Syndicate Union /SS/ of RS Cedo Volas stated in Doboj that the Syndicate, because of the negligence and unprincipled relation of international organisations towards RS, send the protest to High international Representative Carl Bildt. At the meeting with the presidents of the municipal syndicate organisations of the Syndicate of Doboj region, Volas stressed the Syndicate will "as the sign of warning schedule one hour general strike of all employees in RS".

MOSCOW - The Russian president Boris Yeltzin dismissed the minister of Defence Igor Rodionov and the head of General Staff of the Russian Army Victor Samsonov. This unexpected decision Yeltzin announced at the session of the Defence Council which had a dramatic course. Previously, Rodionov and Samsonov refused to submit the report about the status in Army, calling upon the lack of time to prepare the report.

ALGIERS - In the explosion of the vehicle-bomb in the place Bufarik, 25 kilometres south from Algiers, today was killed nine people and wounded 33 - transmits Reuters the report of the official Algiers' agency APS.
