APRIL 26 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

AMSTERDAM - The financial help intended by the international community for the reconstruction of Republika Srpska and the Federation of B&H should lead to a territorial unification of the B&H and the removal of the boundary line between the entities, believes the Citizens' Organisation from Helsinki. The organisation reminds us that the international community wants to invest the major part of the money in the reconstruction of the infrastructure in the zones of separation so that the transportation between RS and the FB&H may be established and freedom of movement of the people and flow of goods be possible.

PARIS - Peace is once more jeopardised in the B&H, because it is not possible to bring the refugees back to their pre-war homes, maintains the assistant High Representative, Michael Steiner. In an interview for the Paris 'Liberation', Steiner underestimates all of the efforts taken by the RS Government to find an appropriate accommodation for the Serb refugees and enable them to get job.

AMSTERDAM - The armed Muslims who killed Serb wood cutters from Milici and who were sentenced by the Court in Zvornik to a 20 year prison term, were members of an armed group sent by the FB&H authorities in order to carry out secret missions in RS. According to a commentator of the Dutch daily 'Volkeskrant', this is the best attested in the fact that during their arrest, the Muslims were quite fatten up, with their hair fresh cut and were wearing new uniforms.

DOBOJ - The authorities of the Republic of Croatia rejected to set a Serbman Milorad Stetic free from a prison in Gospici, reports the OSCE. While being on a business trip to Zagreb as a driver of the OSCE Doboj Office, Stetic was arrested two months ago under the accusation of killing and wounding of two Croat policeman during his stay in the Republic of the Srpska Krajina (RSK).

SARAJEVO - The OSCE appealed to the citizens of RS and the FB&H to register themselves from May 5 to June 16 so that they would acquire the right to vote at the upcoming municipal elections which are to take place on September 13 and 14. 'The citizens are to bring appropriate identification cards with them to a nearby voter registration station where its staff will confirm their right to vote.

BANJALUKA - According to unofficial data, some 19 political parties and a coalition block from RS confirmed their participation at the forthcoming elections in RS and the FB&H, which are scheduled for September 13 and 14. The Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) handed in their application form to the Regional OSCE Centre in Sokolac, while the greatest number of political parties handed in their registration forms to the OSCE Office in Banjaluka.
