NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The president of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic, received the charge d'affaires of the Greek Embassy in Sarajevo, Rusos Kunduros. They exchanged views on the current political situation and the implementation of the Dayton agreement, along with the international community's assistance for economic development and preparations for the up- coming local elections.

SARAJEVO - The RS president in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, received deputy charge d'affaires of the US Embassy in Sarajevo, Michael Parmly. They discussed the up-coming visit of the delegation of US Senate, led by Charles Rob.

BANJALUKA - The RS vice-president, Dragoljub Mirjanic, talked in Banjaluka with the delegation of Ministry of Health of Monte Negro about the modernisation of the RS health care in accordance with WHO recommendations.

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of the high representative, Colum Murphy, stated in Pale that the justice was not satisfied in Mostar and that those responsible for the February 10 incident remained unpunished. In referring to the opening of the high representative office in Pale, Murphy said the issue was not considered yet.

BANJALUKA - The IPTF spokesman for Sector West, Alaun Roberts, confirmed in Banjaluka that the Muslim authorities in Bihac yesterday freed Aleksandar Bajric from Prijedor, following his ten month-captivity. At a press conference, Roberts explained Bajric was arrested on May 22, 1996 in Sanski Most under suspicion of illegal possession of arms.

DOBOJ - According to the Doboj police, the Muslims from the Gracanica municipality, last night blocked the villages of Kapetanovic and Sjenina Rijeka, in the Municipality of Doboj, thus endangering the RS territorial integrity. The action seemed to have been well prepared since the Muslims previously military prepared the area. According to the Doboj Police, Muslims attempted to enter into the area, and officially regulate its stay in the territory with the help of international elements and using the controversial procedures.

BANJALUKA - The president of the RS State Commission for POW Exchange, Jovo Rosic, said in Banjaluka that the Serb party seeks for 1,969 Serb soldiers and about 3,980 civilians, who are reported missing after the Croat-Muslim 1995 aggression on RS.

BANJALUKA - The president of the RS Socialist Party, Zivko Radisic, assessed as unfounded speculations of Muslim media on alleged exchange of territories between Federation of B-H and RS.

AMSTERDAM - The process against war criminals from the Celebici prisoner camp entered into its third week, but the western media do not report of it, thus denying that the Serb side could receive an equal treatment from the Hague Tribunal. As far as the trial itself is concerned, it also served Tribunal for general accusations against the Serbs, although the process concerned Muslim and Croats defendants.

BANJALUKA - The European Commission delivered nine ambulances - in total amount of 790,000 DEM - to RS Medical Centre in Banjaluka.

BRCKO - The "Majevica" furniture factory in Brcko is the first enterprise in the city that enters into the process of establishment of a joint venture with the Italian enterprise ITALPLAN". "Majevica" director Bosko Maricic said the preliminary agreement would be concluded next week.

BRCKO - The Brcko Department Store and the "IMPEKT- International" private enterprise form Luxembourg, made the agreement on establishing the joint Serb-Luxembourg enterprise. Under the agreement, the input of 20 million DEM worth consumer goods will be made within a year, in addition to 500,000 DEM investment in the department store's building reconstruction.
