NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The deputies of the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly adopted Law on Ministries, at the sequel of today's session. Deputies discussed Article 6 of the Law which referred to the structure and number of ministries. The RS Government spokesman announced the Government adopted amendment of the Serbian Democratic Party House of Repersentatives which says that the Government consists of 22 ministries. The National Assembly will continue its session tomorrow at 9:00 hrs.

WASHINGTON - In their preparations for the continuation of the arbitration process over the inter-entity boundary line in the area of Brcko, convened for the next week in Brussels, the RS state delegation in Washington continued is talks with US officials. The US Congress and Government officials in charge of foreign affairs heard RS positions why Brcko must remain a part of RS, as is precisely provided for in the Dayton Agreement.

BRCKO - The political representatives of RS and the Federation of B-H for the Brcko area met in the SFOR base "MacGaver" where they guaranteed to respect the outcome of the arbitration over the Brcko area. "In Dayton, RS committed itself to respect the decision of the arbitration and continue the implementation of the Dayton agreement", stated the Brcko mayor after the meeting. Muslim representative, Mirsad Djapo, and Croat representative, Mijo Anic, offered their assurances that the Corat-Muslim entity would too accept and implement the decision of the Arbitration Commission.

SARAJEVO - The RS president in the Dayton B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, received in Pale the OSCE political director for RS and Federation, Vladimir Kuznecov, with whom he exchanged views on the current political and economic situation in the Dayton B-H and the up-coming municipal elections.

SARAJEVO - The Serbs understand traditionally good relations between the local Muslims and Turkey, and they think that Turkey's more active role would be important for successful implementation of the Dayton agreement, stated the RS president in the Dayton B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik. During his talks with the Turkish ambassador to the Dayton B-H, Mehmed Gerkaj, Krajisnik said the establishing of special relations between the Muslims and Turkey, would be beneficial for all three peoples; this was from Krajisnik's cabinet. Krajisnik also explained Serb position regarding the arbitration over the Brcko area, and discussed the "Equip and Train" military programme, supported and implemented by Turkey.

SARAJEVO - The RS president in the Dayton B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with Croatian ambassador in Sarajevo, Darniko Bago, on the solution of status of Serbs in the Serb District of Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem. They considered the issues of property of the Serbs from the Republic of the Srpska Krajina and POW release.

LOPARE - The secretary of the Lopare municipality, Ranko Todorovic, confirmed that SFOR and IPTF prevented the Expert Team of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs from investigation into the last night's two explosions in the village of Milosavci. "Last night between 19:00 and 20:00hrs, two detonations were heard in the Serb village of Milosavci, in the area of Gajevi, and Serb Police, SFOR and IPTF representatives arrived at the venue immediately after detonations were heard, but the Expert Team was not allowed to carry out an investigation", stated Todorovic.

ZVORNIK - The International Commission for Settling of the Zone of Separation and Zvornik authorities agreed that 198 persons have right to move in the village of Dugi Do, according to 1991 census. Those persons signed a statement that they will respect the RS legislation.
