Srpska Republika News Agency (SRNA), 97-02-06Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: The Serbian Unity Congress Server at http://www.suc.orgFEB. 6, 1997 DAYNEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKASARAJEVO - Upon the initiative of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and Serbian Radical Party (SRS) House of Representatives and the representatives of the Serbian Patriotic Party, Serbian Party of the Krajina, and Democratic Patriotic Block, a consultative meeting of the representatives was held late last night; this was announced from the cabinet of the president of the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assmelby. The target of the meeting was to prepare a review - for the up-coming Assembly session - of the previous course of the arbitration over the Brcko area.WASHINGTON - During a pause in the work of the Arbitration Commission for the Inter-entity Boundary Line in the Area of Brcko, the RS delegation - led by the RS vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic - held several meetings with US high-officials in Washington to the end of notifying them that Brcko is an integral part of RS, and that it is not in the interest of the USA to support some other solution, which would lead the Banjaluka's region into a very difficult position. In addition, they said, an international protectorate would not be a good solution for international community either, for the decision who will get Brcko will have to be brought sooner or later. SARAJEVO - The RS Government brought a Decision on arming and equipping of the Ministry of Interior. SARAJEVO - At their session in Lukavica, the Council of Ministers of the Dayton B-H will discuss the report of commissions about the status of judiciary projects. They will hold further talks about the Council's Rules of Procedure and other on-going issues. ZVORNIK - The head of the Zvornik Public Security Centre, colonel Dragomir Vasic, SFOR and IPTF representatives, worked out modalities of RS Police entrance into the village of Dugi Do, by which the establishing of RS civil authorities in the Zvornik municipality would be completed. They expressed hope that Serb Police entrance into the village, planned for Tuesday, February 11, would meet no complications. ZVORNIK - A census in the village of Mahala - which was returned under Serb Police control by the beginning of this week - was done. The head of the Zvornik Police, Dragomir Vasic, stated that Serb policemen left for Mahala to photograph all adults, so that they could obtain proper personal documents. DOBOJ - The SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade spokesman, Arthur Bilski, stated that SFOR has no intention to support the announced spring action of Muslim mass return to Doboj municipalities. Major Bilsky stated at a press conference that UNHCR is responsible for repatriation and denied reports of the Belgrade's newspaper "Politika" saying that SFOR will take part in such an action. NOVI GRAD - The president of the Serbian Socialist Party Zivko Radisic, stated that Brcko is of crucial importance for the survival of the Serbs in the RS. Radisic stressed that the fate of the Dayton Agreement depends on the solution for Brcko. BEOGRAD - Leaders of the Coalition "Together" Zoran Djindjic, Vuk Draskovic and Vesna Pesic left Belgrade for Paris, where they should meet with the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Herve de Sharette. In the afternoon they are going to have a press conference in Paris, and are expected to be back at 19:00hrs. Djindjic, Draskovic and Pesic asked yesterday their followers to gather this evening about 20:30 at the Republic Square in order to hold their 79th rally. BELGRADE - The leader of the Serbian Radical Party, Vojislav Seselj, stated today that the Slobodan Milosevic's insisting that the Serbia's National Assembly brings a new law for accepting the election results represents a new breach of the Constitutional Law and the legislation of the country. He warned that "the laws of this kind are dangerous". WASHINGTON - The Government of the Bosnian Muslims is establishing its intelligence service which is under direct influence of Iran, reports "Los Angeles Times", and cites CIA that Clinton's Administration has already been informed about this. According to this paper, a secret report reads that the job has been undertaken by the former deputy Croat-Muslim defence minister, Hasan Cengic, who got sacked from this post under US pressure, because of his connections with Iran. MOSTAR - Croatian Radio-Herzeg-Bosnia reports an explosive device has exploded in the Croatian part of the city, which provoked disturbance among the city-dwellers. According to Mostar Police, the incident, in which there were no injured people, happened last night at about 20:30hrs, and were followed by three more explosions in the Croat part of Mostar. VUKOVAR - The Parliament of the Serb District of Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srem, held an extraordinary session at which it discussed the current political-security situation in the Serb District. The District president, Goran Hadzic, singled out, while commenting the UN Security Council report, that the Erdut Agreement is being reaffirmed, equal rights are given to refugees and domestic residents. The election date is not confirmed yet, and Croatia is required to create conditions for the organisation of the elections.
