BANJALUKA - The president of the National Assembly of Repub lika Srpska (RS) and Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) candidate for the joint presidency in the Union of B-H, Momcilo Krajsisnik, assessed last night that September elections and the next two years are crucial for the survival of RS. While being guest in the Serb TV programme "Elections' 96", Krajisnik said that he accepted his candidacy as an obligation for "the coming period is a period of political struggle to preserve and buildup RS".

DOBOJ - During last night's preelection rally in Doboj, the president of the Democratic Patriotic Block of RS, Predrag Radic, asked all political parties and blocks in RS to agree about the joint presidential candidate for the elections.

BILECA - The Party of Serb Unity (SSJ) called all voters at last night's rally in Bileca, to give their vote to national parties for "these parties are the only parties capable of pre serving the RS".

CLEVELAND - The dominating view in the international commu nity is that the upcoming elections in RS and the Croat-Muslim Federation will cement the ethnic partition of the Dayton B-H, which is something what the negotiators at the Right Patterson Base had attempted to avoid, say U.S. media. "In an attempt to prevent the ethnic division, Izetbegovic's government, which is left with only 30 per cent of the territory, seeks the postpone ment of the elections, and will do everything to prevent their holding".

PARIS - Izetbegovic's Party of Democratic Action (SDA) pushed its followers to enter to RS and seize Serb villages, reports Le Mond's Sarajevo correspondent Remi Urdan. While as sessing that the elections in RS and the CroatMuslim Federation are to start in confusion, this paper reminds its readers that Izetbegovic's SDA firstly called on a boycott of the elections, and now is doing the quite opposite thing.

SARAJEVO - The former Muslim prime minister and the presi dent of the Party for B-H Haris Silajdzic expressed his doubt that the Croatian Republic of HerzegBosnia (HR HB) will be annulled by August 31 as called for in the Geneva Agreement, adding that the HR H-B will only change its name.
