SOKOLAC - More than 40 persons have in the last few days asked for a medical help at the Hospital of the Headquarters of the Army of Republika Srpska (GS VRS) and at a local Clinic, be cause of the difficult problems in breathing, the irritation of mucosa and of upper digestivus tractus which were caused by a large dose of air pollution. A great concentration of toxic agents in the air over Sokolac - the city known of having the greatest concentration of ozone in Europe - is being directly connected with the destruction of arms from the VRS warehouse in the village of Margetici, near Sokolac. The VRS Hospital's oto laryngologist, Dr. Slado Turuntas said in a statement for SRNA that a number of patients complained of "feeling nauseous, throw ing up and of having diarrhea, while others complained of having dull pains in their heads, then of general weakness and of the heart beating being accelerated".

SARAJEVO - The Information Service of the Headquarters of the Army of Republika Srpska (GS VRS) warned that in the opposi tion to the Dayton agreement IFOR has been in the last few days seen "as a confrontation force which is destroying the defensive potentials of one side and supplying the other side with arms". A communique delivered to SRNA says that for the needs of the CroatMuslim Federation IFOR units have on August 19 - the same time when they destroyed 90 tonnes of the VRS's defensive means - driven seven 'Leopard' tanks and 15 armour troop carriers on their draft vehicles in Kljuc from the Croatian port of Split.

SARAJEVO - Today, at about 14:30 hrs, a meeting of the Board of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) started in Pale. The meeting attended by IPTF, OSCE, and IFOR representatives focused on creating favourable security conditions for holding the Sep tember 14 elections in RS and the CroatMuslim Federation.

SARAJEVO - About 13,389 refugees and 2,475 displaced persons are currently living in the Municipality of Pale, of which more than 5,500 citizens are from the parts of Serb Sarajevo given by the Dayton agreement to the Muslim rule, learns SRNA in the Municipal Organisation of the Red Cross (OO CK). The Pale OO CK secretary, Milomir Zuber, said that about 650 refugees from Serb Sarajevo have been accommodated in the collective centres in the Jahorina and Sator Hotels on the Mt. Jahorina as well as in a reception centre in Podgrab.

ZVORNIK - A preelection meeting of the RS Serbian Radical Party (RS SRS) will take place tomorrow in Zvornik. Head of the Serbian Radical Party of Serbian Lands (SRS SZ), Vojislav Seselj, the RS SRS president Nikola Poplasen and RS SRS secretary Nikola Spiric and others are expected to address the meeting.

ZURICH - After a meeting held in Diwendorf on August 17 and organised by the Board for collective departure of the Serbs from Sweden to vote in RS, a great majority of the Serbs living in Sweden will come to vote in RS.

HAMBURG - Muslim nationalists have made an Islamic monocul tural centre of Sarajevo - the city where once ethnic variety has ruled, writes the German daily Zeit, warning that "Izetbe govic and his followers are constantly dreaming of an Iranmodel Islamic state". Citing "some diplomatic sources in the capital of the CroatMuslim Federation", the paper maintains that Iranian ambassador to Sarajevo is being considered as the most influen tial diplomat in the city.

SARAJEVO - Slovenian police arrested the member of the Muslim Presidency and leader of the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), Ivo Komsic, and the member of the Socialdemocratic Party, Nijaz Skenderagic. The Muslim paper, Oslobodjenje, writes, that Komsic and Skenderagic were expected to hold several meetings of the five opposition parties from the CroatMuslim Federation - known under the name 'Joint List'- which will candidate at the upcoming elections in RS and the Federation.

SOMBOR - About 20,900 refugees from the Republic of the Srpska Krajina (RSK) currently living in the Municipality of Sombor, have not been for two months receiving the humanitarian aid, so practically speaking, the majority of them are starving, writes the paper, Vecernje Novosti.
