In one of the greatest crimes of the 20th century, the Croatian Army last year occupied the largest portion of RSK territory - inhabited exclusively by the Serbs for cen turies - evicting all of the RSK Serbs. LONDON - The U.S. has drafted plans for their commandos to try and catch Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, claims the British press, expressing the conviction of the British government that at this moment such a move might be counterproductive. The Sunday Times cites sources close to U.S. and British intelligence, saying that U.S. troops will try to arrest Dr. Karadzic in an airborne commando raid on Pale. The British defence minister Mi chael Portillo, denies there are disagreements with Washington regarding policy towards Bosnia, and doubts that a hunt on Karad zic is a smart move at this time. MOSTAR - Talks between the E.U. and the Croats concerning the municipal administration of Mostar have failed, stated the EU spokesman Dragan Gasic late last night, reports AFP. He explained that "talks aimed at convincing the Mostar Croats before midnight to take part in the newly elected City Council did not bear re sults". MOSTAR - As the EU-set ultimatum expired an hour before mid night, the Mostar Croats announced their acceptance of a condi tional cooperation with the "provisional City Council of Mostar", reports AFP. An announcement by the mayor of the Croat part of Mostar Mijo Brajkovic, said the Croats were ready to cooperate with the "provisional City Council", which is due to meet on August 8 for the first time. WASHINGTON - U.S. secretary of state Warren Christopher will be visiting the former Yugoslavia from 12 to 15 August so as to convince himself that conditions exist for "holding free and fair elections" in the former B-H, reports AFP, referring to the state ment of an unnamed State Department official.
