  • [01] Police in Sarajevo suburbs: They are still where they had been all these years, only in different uniforms

    Feb.5, 1996 Sarajevo

``The biggest problem is that the U.N. has failed to live up to its part of the agreement,'' said a senior European police monitor who spoke on the condition of anonymity. ``We should have had all these police deployed by now.''

``Serbian troops are still where they had been in Sarajevo suburbs all these years, only in different uniforms,'' said Bosnian Prime Minister ...

U.N. officials said it appeared that the number of police officers in the Serbian-held suburbs had increased. They also said some police officials had been replaced with new, unfamiliar faces.

``My loyalty is to the Serbian leadership in Pale,'' said Tusevljak, seated beneath a large picture of Radovan Karadzic, the Bosnian Serb leader...

    Appeal to the international public

We resort to the international public to make some steps in order to save alive people from Srebrenica, because there are some indications and hope that 3000 people are still alive and that they are in the concentration camps in the parts of Bosnia under Serb control as well as in Serbia.

Do not let our people be manipulated with as hidden cards in political games. You have to realise that they are our children, husbands, fathers, brothers.

It is very obvious that the radio "Free Europe" reported two months ago that there were 3000 persons from Srebrenica still alive and that persons from =C4epa had been transported from Serbia to Australia by planes. "Voice of America" reported that 241 mentally sick persons from Serbia had been transported lately to Ireland and that they were offered an asylum. Also, having telephone contacts with Serbia there are some information about considerable number of alive persons, and that the ICRC absolutely denies that.

Please, help us to save whoever we can and to have a chance to bury our dead relatives with dignity. Demand from your governments to make pressure to the United Nations in order to rescue our people from concentration camps. Do not forget that good returns for good and that not responding is collaboration with crime.Srebrenica was safety zone and the biggest crime after the World War II was carried out over people of Srebrenica!
