Sifnos offers several small picturesque "kafeneia"(coffe shops) and pastry shops where traditional local sweets are served, such as oriental pastries, "kourabiedes"(an oriental paste of butter, flour and sugar),"amigdalota" (almond candy), "loukoumia"(Turkish delight), vanilla as well as the famous "boureki", which is a pie of honey, almond and sesame. In Apollonia, there is the croissanterie, "Plaza", which serves coffee, breakfast, croissants and pizza, while in "Kastro" there is the popular cafe-bar "Remezzo". Sifnos is famous for its traditional cuisine with delicious recipes, such as the famous "revithada", a soup made of baked chick peas with spices and lemon, "revithokeftedes" (chick pea meatballs), "kapparosalata"(caper salad), onion-stewed rabbit and the cheese pies and "bougatsas" from the bakery in Kastro. In Vathi there is "Faros", "Tsikali" and "Okeanis", while in Platis Gialos there is "Fyssas", "Ariadni", "Sofia", ( the fish taverna ) "Foni", "Cyclades Beach" and "To Steki". In beautiful Heronissos, one can eat at the grill-house, "Troulaki", while a stroll along Kastro can end by eating at the taverna "Zorbas" or "Leonidas".
