At Hora there are a few small "kafeneia" (coffee-shops), pastry shops and cafe, where one can enjoy a cup of coffee or breakfast, such as the famous "Pounta", which serves delicious cheese-pie and omelettes. At noon, at the restaurants and the tavernas fresh fish and delicious seafood snacks are served. But there are also the local homemade dishes, like the famous "matsata", which is macaroni with rooster or rabbit in a red sauce. At Hora one can find good food at the following tavernas: "tis Katinas", and "tou Kritikou", that offer the famous "gemista"(stuffed vegetables with rice or meat) as their specialty, or at the ouzo-shop "Folegandros", "Apanemo", "Melissa" and "Piatsa", while at Ano Meria there is the traditional "Taverna tou Mitsaki", "Mimis" and "Iliovasilema". To conclude, excellent fresh fish is served at Angali at the fish-taverna "tou Apostolou" and "Psaromilinga" as well as at Karavostassis.
