Andros is famous for its excellent pastries sold at the pastry shops of Hora. Among those that stand out are the local "amigdalota"(almond candy), "kaltsounia", oriental pastries and stewed fruit "Laskari" in a variety of flavours, such as small nut and lemon blossom. At the local stores delicious fragrant honey and fine quality dried-in-the-sun wine are also sold.
