Public Relations & Media Companies in the U.S.

Combined Resources for Effective Policy Making
Executive Summary of Public Relations & Media Companies in the US
There are over 6 million Greeks living and studying abroad. Among them there are some of the most successful academicians, professionals and politicians in the world. However, in the last few years, Greece has faced major economic and political challenges. In this global reality those who study and work outside Greece have witnessed a plethora of incidences of negative foreign media coverage pertaining to Greece, and its relationships with neighboring states. This negative publicity, combined with less than timely responses on the part of Greece, has contributed to an often unjustifiably weak image of Greece abroad.
The Public Relations & Media Companies HRG will plan and launch an educational effort, directed to Greek leaders who shape external policies and influence Greece's world image. The HRG's key objective is to raise awareness in Greece to support a national Public Relations (PR) and media strategy that will facilitate a pro-Greek image abroad. This effort must be as comprehensive as possible, and in terms of methodology, will incorporate the following elements: Seminars from professionals in the Communications and PR fields, articles in the Greek press both domestic and abroad, and radio and TV shows wherever possible. Finally, the end result of this project would be a presentation of research on the correlation between PR expenditures, and the effectiveness and measurability of results. This data would be presented by those US PR and media companies experienced in waging PR campaigns that position countries in the world market.
The final event of this HRG effort would be a conference which will bring Greek-American lobbying firms and American PR and Media firms in contact with Greek public policy makers and other interested parties (business people, journalists, etc.). The purpose of such an event would be to create a forum for these organizations to make presentations on the importance of PR, media coverage, positioning and image to international relations, and open a dialogue with Greek policy makers on these issues.
