KALYPSO NICOLAIDIS

Biographical Information

Kalypso Nicolaidis is Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University where she teaches courses on negotiation, international institutions and the European Community. She also teaches at the Ecole Nationale d'Administration in Paris. In her research, she combines long-standing interests in exploring the sources of cooperation in regional and multilateral settings, the role of ideas in international relations and the dynamics of bargaining under complexity. Her current work concerns the post-Uruguay Round agenda, including world anti-trust policies, standardization and regulatory conflicts associated with the implementation of the new services regime. She has published on the EC, Eastern Europe, and the GATT and is editor of Strategic Trends in Services: An Enquiry into the World Services Economy. She has worked in or with several international institutions, including the OECD, GATT, UNCTAD, IIASA and the EC, and is currently chairman of the Services Word Forum. She holds a PhD in Political Economy and Government from Harvard, a Master in International Economics from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris.
