EXPERIENCE
Litigation Attorney
Practice concentrates in civil litigation; representing personal injury plaintiffs in the various courts and administrative bodies of the Commonwealth. Notable achievements include appellate affirmation of trial decisions in Williams v. Brigham's Ice Cream and Maher v. M.B.T.A. Practice further includes advising clients on estate planning, family law, business law and tax law.
Litigation Attorney
Represented the Revenue Department in defending tax assessments on income tax, corporate excise tax, sales/use tax and estate tax. Defended the Commissioner before the Appellate Tax Board. Prepared and executed seizure writes.
Special Investigator
Conducted investigations against organized crime figures in Massachusetts including field investigation and surveillance; created new techniques for case identification; created a communications network between the Department and the State Police, Boston Police Department and the various district attorney offices; and developed disclosure and protection of privacy procedures.
Student Assistant District Attorney
Represented the Commonwealth in the prosecution of criminal defendants within the jurisdiction of the Boston Municipal Court, including plea bargain negotiations with defense counsel.
Talk Show Host and Producer
Analysis and discussion of issues related to domestic and foreign affairs; legal analysis on current events and various other topics. Some notable guests included Suffolk County Sheriff Bob Rufo, State Representative James Brett, Boston City Councilor Peggy Davis-Mullen, Boston City Councilor Thomas Keane, T.V. and radio personality Christopher Lydon and other local and foreign personalities.
