Executive Summary of Foreign Press Article Taxonomy

HRI is currently sponsoring an HRG whose objective is to compile an index of articles concerning Greece published in the foreign press since January 1989. Sources are magazines and newspapers. The index will include the title of the article and the name of publication as well as a short summary (two to three sentences) of the article. The index will be divided into chapters according to the various subject areas (Politics, Economics, Foreign Relations, Immigration, Minorities, Military, etc.).

There are now several on-line services available for such studies (i.e. CompuServe and Lexis-Nexis); therefore, part of this project will utilize computer sources to create abstracts for each article and publish a book / document that can be utilized by public policy makers and students as a valuable reference tool.
