Diana Chigas: Biographical Note
DIANA CHIGAS is a Vice President of Conflict Management Group,
where she is Regional Director for Europe and the former Soviet Union and
Director for International Programs. As a negotiation specialist, she has
offered strategic advice and negotiation training courses to senior
diplomats and trade and government officials in Europe, North and South
America, and Asia. Ms. Chigas has worked with the negotiating teams of the
Government and FMLN guerrillas in El Salvador, and the former Government,
ANC and Inkatha in South Africa on organizing the constitutional
negotiation process. Ms. Chigas has directed CMG's project on preventive
diplomacy in the OSCE, focusing on supporting the development of preventive
diplomacy methodologies of the High Commissioner on National Minorities and
on-site missions of long duration. Currently, she is director of CMG's
Conflict Resolution Project in Cyprus, where she has trained and
facilitated dialogue among Greek and Turkish Cypriot policy leaders and
professionals, and of the Greek-Turkish Initiative on Sustainable Peace in
Southeastern Europe, a collaborative effort of the Fletcher School of Law
and Diplomacy, Washington, D.C.-based Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy,
Athens-based FINEAS, and Ankara-based Turkish Democracy Foundation.
Ms. Chigas is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the Fletcher School of
Law and Diplomacy.
