hrnet X-fonts with OpenWindows

Please pick up the gzipped tar-archive with the HR fonts converted for OpenWindows

When uncompressed, you will have a directory with the fonts created by the Hellenic Resources Network group for use with Netscape. They have been converted for use with the older X11/News display server that comes with Solaris 1.x (SunOS 4.x + Openwindows). If you are running Solaris 2.x you don't have to bother since the OpenWindows version that comes with it is fully X11R5 compatible (so you can use the generic version of these fonts).

If you do not have root privileges, follow the instructions by Thanos Voudouris.

If you have root privileges, use the follow these steps:

Copy the .fb files to the openwindows font directory. (usually /usr/openwin/lib/fonts)

cp *.fb /usr/openwin/lib/fonts

Append the contents of the hr-Synonyms.list file to the Synonyms.list file found in the openwindows font directory.

cat hr-Synonyms.list >> /usr/openwin/lib/fonts/Synonyms.list

Change directory to the openwindows font directory and build the font families list.

cd /usr/openwin/lib/fonts
/usr/openwin/bin/bldfamily
Now you should be ok. Restart OpenWindows and start Netscape using the supplied grnetscape script. Enjoy!
